Unfortunate Event

Hey folks - I found one of my 6 ottos on the floor this morning. It jumped out. I was wondering if this is a known issue with ottos. I see these guys get "the zoomies" every once in a while. I am assuming that maybe this happened when it was to high in the tank. I tested the water parameters yesterday and everything was perfect.

So... do I have ALL the deficiencies

Attached is a picture of some leaves that I removed from my planted tank (the blue saucer).

I see:

- Pinholes (Potassium Deficiency)

- Dark veins, lighter plant (Iron deficiency?)

- Yellowing / translucent leaves (Nitrogen Deficiency?)

- Big ass hole that looks like a fish ate it (Phosphate deficiency?)

What the heck does my fertilizer have? I'm starting to wonder if it RODI water!

[edit] Adding more photos [/edit]

The tank was planted around the last week of June, so let's call it 2 months in.

Balancing Circulation and Fish

I had my flora in my tank before I had my fauna. Since there were no animals, I didn't have to worry about how strong the flow / circulation was, and I think my planted aquarium was the better for it.

But now that I have CPDs and Otos in the tank, I was wondering how you all balance the fact that higher flow / circulation is better for the plants, but potentially worse for the fauna?

Coquito Ron Del Barrilito

Travelled to PR and forgot to get the coquito referenced in the title. Anyone know if I can buy it or get it shipped to Miami or Chicago?

What Else….

First time scaping. Here is my UNS 45U. About 1 week old now.

The rotala h’ra is about the only thing that’s looking good. 😞😮‍💨😔

The rotala is in the back right. The bacopa is back left. The Monte Carlo looks so bad right now. Mid ground is supposed to be Anubias and crypts. There’s no taste in how the Anubias were arranged, and there’s not a ton of them anyway. The crypts are all melting, but I hear that is normal.

No idea what to put in the mid ground-right “bald spot”. It looked good leaving it empty when it was only hardscape - it gave it this eerie, desolate feeling. But it doesn’t look good now.

What would you all do to this to take it from a C to a B?

Fin Knots

Hi

I have a veiltail betta. It looks like the fins have knots at the end of them. Is this a problem? If so, how do I fix this?

It is in a tank with live plants, it has a healthy appetite. I feed it high-quality pellets and twice a week they get blackworms.

There is a nitrite snail (on the small size) living with the betta, but that's it.
