Any recs for Oregon native plants that do well in large pots outside ?

I have a large pot with no use for it. I would say it’s about 2x2 feet and 4 feet tall. I want to add in a perennial and/or evergreen native but don’t want to put anything in there that wouldn’t be happy. Thoughts? TIA!

What are some things you do to protect your personal information?

I see clients in a NP setting and while I don’t have a social media presence, I worry about my personal information showing up online. I’ve tried my best to remove data I find about myself but it is tedious. Any recommendations for websites like DeleteMe? What do you like best about them. I would also love to hear any other considerations/tips/tricks you have found helpful!

What do I do with this planter area against my house?

Kind of confused about what to do. I’ve seen people online say to not build planters against the house to help preserve the integrity of the structure. Makes sense to me. I just don’t know too much about what is or isn’t appropriate/safe as I am new to all things home-related. This was filled with soil, weeds, and rocks. I just placed cardboard over the top yesterday while I figure out what to do. There is still some soil in there. Do I keep it? Do I dig everything out?

Is this a night crawler?

I wish I would have taken a picture of how long it was but I didn’t want to bother it too much. Is this a European nightcrawler? Reddish band and darker head with a lighter body.

Would love some ideas on what to plant in a native flower garden - pictures welcome!

I have a really sunny area in my yard and would love to get some perennials for the space (or annuals that very easily self seed). Any ideas on what I could plant together? I’d like the space to be beneficial and symbiotic, but I’m still learning and would love some ideas on what to plant! The soil is quite rich and stays moist, but it isn’t wet.

I really enjoy western coneflower, yarrow, checkermallow, and Oregon sunshine. I have some of those flowers scattered throughout the yard. If anyone is opening to sharing what type of native garden they have going on, I’d love to see. Thanks in advance!

Is this actually oxalis oregana?

I was told the flowers are white but the ones in my yard have been pink/purple-ish. Others I showed the photos to (before they flowered) said it was oregana but I want to confirm. I have some in my backyard with some purple tinting on the underside of the leaves. TIA

Sooo does anyone know what this is?

Sheet mulched an area of my yard, saw some dying sprouts and decided to follow them in-ground and came across this. I have no clue what this could be.

Does anyone else deal with severe paranoia? In general I just don’t know what to do.

I’m realizing I meet criteria for PMDD. I suffer so much and I’m not sure what to do. I have a gyno appt. coming up so I’ll definitely be asking for some support but I’d really appreciate any information or just knowing that what I’m experiencing isn’t forever and I’m not going crazy.

I’ve also been experiencing paranoid thoughts as well as increase in anxiety and severe depression around a week and a half before my period. The paranoia really gets to me. Last cycle, I thought that I was being spied on by my neighbors, that there were microphones potentially planted near my house. This week, I feel like crap and can’t enjoy my weekend because I truly believe my boss is going to fire me. I sent a message asking about an evaluation meeting we have yet to schedule and he didn’t reply to me, and I’m convinced it’s because he is going to fire me because work has been extremely slow so I’ve had nothing to complete. I’ve been drawing conclusions to justify these ideas. Part of me feels like I’m probably just extremely anxious but the “what if” doesn’t go away.

My relationship has been suffering 2/4 weeks. It started getting worse seemingly after I removed my Mirena that I had for 5 years. I’ve always experienced PMS, but it feels like things have gotten worse. I only had Mirena for 5 years, and the years before the Mirena was ever introduced, it wasn’t THIS bad. But I also just turned 30 and I know my body has changed.

Is reassurance deserved here? I just don’t know what to do and I feel like I’m losing it. I feel so sad and out of it, anxious, it just feels like everything is so bad. I’d really like to know others’ experiences too if you feel comfortable sharing. Thanks so much.

Does anyone have experience with Sitka Willows?

A family member has one, and I would like tot ale it and plant it in my backyard as I have been working on planting beneficial and native plants. I’m a little stuck on where to plant it specifically because of how large I know they can get. Any considerations I should note? Can they be kept more compact if needed? Any and all info is welcome.

Best area of garden to plant some Cusick’s Checkermallow?

I’ve seen some conflicting info. I can accommodate full all-day sun or part sun and shade but not sure what would be best.

Question about IDing Oxalis Oregana

I was told this was Oxalis Oregana, a native here in Oregon. I’ve always thought the leaves to be white, but I’m also reading online that they can also be pink. Can anyone confirm/provide more info on how I can tell? Also - some of them are purple under the leaves while others are not.

Are these wild strawberries?

I know there are different types including “mock strawberry” but I don’t know too much about how to tell the difference. If these are North American natives I don’t want to remove them. Any ideas? How can I tell?

Aphids and ants on my strawberry plants. Do I need to do anything about this?

Today I noticed that there were a lot of ants on one of my strawberry plants. When I took a closer look, I saw what I think might be aphids. When I did a google search to try and figure out what was happening, I was met with a lot of information to sift through. From what I’ve gathered, the ants are “farming” the aphids to extract the sap they produce.

I think my only question is if I need to do anything about this. Do I just let them do their thing? Do I intervene? I’m not bothered by their presence unless this will cause harm to the plants.

Tree/leaf ID?

Can anyone positively ID this leaf/tree? I used the ID app on my phone and it says this is a hazel tree. Is this correct?

Is it typical to have a swollen throat/slowed swallowing/stuck burp sensation after a tooth removal?

Had an erupted wisdom tooth pulled yesterday - very straightforward and quick. I felt pretty tired more of the day yesterday. Woke up, still feel tired, and had body aches but taking ibuprofen and Tylenol helped.

Since late last night, I’ve felt a globus sensation - like there is a pocket of air in my throat that I can kind of feel in my ear. But it is on the right side of my throat/face and not the left (the side my tooth was removed). Could this be related? It feels a bit tight. When I swallow food or water, it moves down slowly and I’m wondering if this is all from swelling. I can’t tell what is going on. If it is related to my upper L wisdom tooth removal or if it’s acid reflux… but I’ve never had this sensation before and it’s making me so uncomfortable.

Is this a pretty common symptom? I guess I’m just a little surprised because I thought it wouldn’t affect me. I had 3 of my wisdom teeth removed when I was a minor and I recall feeling fine the next day minus some soreness, but I am now 30 so I’m sure that plays into my ability to bounce back like I once did.

Any recommendations on what I can plant for privacy? Oregon natives would be ideal.

I need a tree or shrub that can provide privacy. Currently, our house feels like a fish bowl that is the neighborhood can see into. Would love any recs on what I can plant for some privacy. In a perfect world, it would have the ability to grow to 5-6 feet while also not getting too outwardly large since we have a small space. An evergreen would be great for privacy year round. I’m open to all recommendations though. Thanks!

What do you all know about RoundUp use? Stressed about my neighbor’s use of it near my property.

I recently saw my neighbor spraying near my fence/garden with some sort of solution attached to a nozzle, and I think it could be RoundUp (or a different herbicide solution). I’ve never used the stuff before. I don’t use pesticides/herbicides in my yard or garden so I don’t know too much about the effects of their usage or mechanisms of action. Should I be worried about my strawberries or other crops that I am growing? It looked like they sprayed right against my fence where I have plants and some raised beds.

I just don’t know if I am overreacting or not. I have pets and we all spend a lot of time out here, so just want us all to be safe. I am not seeking to control what others do, I just want to ensure it doesn’t adversely affect us.

Editing to re-iterate that I am not going to tell someone what they can or can’t do. I know nothing about how to use these products so I wanted to know from others how they work. I should also mention room this was a gardener at my neighbor’s house. I don’t know the folks who live there and don’t want to pester anyone. Truly not trying to ruffle anyone’s feathers.

How should I care for star jasmine as a trellis?

Hi everyone! I wanted to add a vining plant to some lattice fencing. I’ve seen gorgeous privacy covers around Portland using Star Jasmine, but I’ve never seen how it is actually set up (in ground/in pots). Should I buy large pots to keep the jasmine in? Should I plant it in the ground? What is the best way to do this? Any and all tips are very very welcome. Thank you!
