Shorter accommodation contracts

Can anyone who moved into their uni accom in second semester (28-34 week contract) tell me what it’s like?

I’m planning on doing that this year but I’m kind of worried about making friends with flatmates, and stuff like that, since they’ll probably have full-year contracts and will have all gotten to know each other before I moved in. It shouldn’t be too bad though right?

Or are you put with others with the same contract?

Are you given less SFE during a foundation year?

I’m doing a degree with an integrated foundation year and this is the amount they’re giving to me. This is less than minimum SFE and I’m planning to live away from home

Night shift

I work in a travel kiosk and have my first late night shift in a few days (19:00-00:30).

Any advice? I’m a little nervous about it for some reason. Pretty sure I’m helping with closing which I haven’t done before too

Greggs blue undershirt

Does the blue long sleeve really keep you cool in the summer? I’m new staff so haven’t tried it yet and thinking of doing so because of the heatwave coming up, but I’m not really convinced it works

G Training

I have my induction soon and have a bit of dodgy laptop, and am not really keen on using it for my training unless I absolutely have to.

Are you able to complete the training on an iPad, or is desktop absolutely a must?

How do you guys afford it?

Hello, I’m a university student planning to study Medicine at postgraduate. Is it enough to keep my part-time job? I’m worried working full-time will have a negative impact on my studies, and I probably couldn’t afford living costs if I worked less hours to study more.

I’ve already started doing research for funding, but I would rather hear what it would actually be like from someone who’s already doing it. Appreciate anyone who answers!

I might have ruined my interview because of nerves

So I had an interview today with Greggs, which I had been preparing for for days. And I somehow forgot about my crippling anxiety. I really wanted this job, so I think that's why it was so bad today. Like it was so bad it was pathetic, I was physically shaking while waiting for my interviewer, then you could hear my voice shaking as I was answering like I was in a blizzard or something, and I kept losing my train of thought. It was like the guy was holding me at gunpoint even though he was nice and polite the entire time

But the thing is, I researched Greggs and interview questions and what they were looking for and took advice from the subreddit, so I know I answered the questions well, save for some which were a bit different so I made something up on the spot. But I got a peek at the interviewer's paper and it was all ticks. I know its points based, so will they really care that much that I was a nervous wreck and pick someone else?? Or can I still have hope because I think I scored well?

The shaking is just my body's reaction to nerves, I can't control it and it in no way affects how well I work, I hope that they think that way too. I'm just so ashamed I potentially botched my interview solely because of nerves 😭😭😭

EDIT: I GOT THE JOB I GOT THE JOB!!!!
