Trip hop for the summer like Simple Things - Zero 7

I love trip hop music that has a summer vibe. I think Mezzanine or Dummy are perfect for a dark, grey and foggy day. Also I really want to recommend the Album Ison by Sevdaliza for that.

But for the summer, I lovee ! the album Simple Things by Zero 7. The songs without lyrics are so perfect for a warm, fuzzy relaxation moment, and the ones with singing literally enchant me.

I've been recommended Morcheeba for this vibe, and I really liked Addison Rae's "Headphones On" as well.

Any more recommendations? ☀️

Edit: I also liked some songs by Thievery Corporation, I need to get into them more as well!

iKeda (Pink opener)

I'm not sure if this is pinkpantheress related enough for this sub, but...

Does anyone else think that iKeda, pink's opener for the UK/Euro part of the tour is criminally underrated?

Her music is amazing and adds something really fresh, not sure if you can call it hyperpop but I'm enjoying her sooooo much and she deserves way more recognition.

Looking forward to her upcoming EP, all 3 singles sound really unique and amazing!

Health anxiety

It is. Killing. Me.
I kinda managed it in the last months/years. And by managing I mean that it just kinda went away. In 2021, I had a terrible fear of vomiting, up until the point where I realized that it’s just anxiety and I got over it. In the last years I thought „wow, thank god I don’t have that issue anymore“. But it’s come back 10000x worse…
Daily, I’m scared of having something long-term, like cancer or ALS. I scan my „symptoms“ constantly. Like every minute of every day.
Do I have a lump in my breast? Oh my god, I do. Wait. That patch on my skin looks really weird. Fuck, what if I have skin cancer. Did I just slur my words? Wait, why did I have trouble snapping with my finger? Do my face muscles all feel intact? Why am I having trouble swallowing?

And that’s not the worst. The worst is the fear of short term stuff, like a seizure or a stroke. The thoughts are RACING through my mind, like does my face feel droopy on one side? Why did I just see a flashing light in the corner of my eye? Why can’t I remember what we just talked about, or the name of that actress, or what I ate yesterday?

I’m like, constantly testing my body to see if everything is fine. And sometimes, especially in the evenings, I get a feeling like NOW. IM GONNA HAVE A SEIZURE NOW. MY FACE IS DROOPY, I WILL HAVE A STROKE NOW.
Like my brain literally FAKES symptoms. I lay in bed and then suddenly oh my god yes I feel a seizure coming.

It’s so goddamn exhausting. It gets a LITTLE better with regular exercise and journaling, but exercising is also really hard because I keep having „NOW“ moments especially while working out, which causes me to stop working out. I know you’re supposed to „ignore“ it in situations like these, but I’m scared that one day, it’s an actual warning sign and I ignore it and then have a seizure on the treadmill and the running treadmill will rip off my scalp aaaannnndddd. Yeah.

I just wanna know. Are there people out there that learned to actually manage this. I’m almost done with CBT (2 more sessions..), and failed to mentioned it, especially now towards the end because my therapist thinks I’m doing well now. I went to see a psychiatrist once and she told me that I should try to manage my depression and anxiety without medication, but if I want to, I can reach out again. But I don’t want to do meds, partly because of all the testing that needs to be done before that and also because, who would’ve thought, neuro medication makes me scared for my health.

I’m currently living a life that I can’t complain about, I have a fairly relaxing day-to-day life after graduation, but I’m starting uni in the fall and I fear that with my anxiety, it’s gonna be my downfall (that’s an anxious thought🫩🤡)

First watch, first thoughts (S1E05)

Heyyyy, I‘m on episode 5, it’s my first watch and I like it, but it’s not what I expected!
Honestly, I thought this show was some kind of ritualistic horror show. But after reading that it’s more of a comment on differences between social strata, everything I’ve seen in the show makes a lot of sense.

I just have to fight myself through the Shane scenes, because oh my god. What a rich, spoiled, obnoxious person. Especially as someone who’s had multiple jobs in customer service.
I kinda do get his frustration about the Pineapple Suite, but like omfg get over it. He obsesses over this cause it „ruins the honeymoon“, when he is ruining the honeymoon. He doesn’t give a frick about Rachel. If I was her I would buy the next plane ticket home and file for divorce.
And don’t get me started on his mother.
Of course I know that his character is meant to come on this way but ITS REALLY STRESSFUL TO WATCH.
I could kinda see that Rachel would kill herself, but in the beginning, they said „someone got killed (…)“. English is not my first language, so idk if you say this if someone kills themselves. But I also kinda assume that her death is going to be more complicated than that. I don’t see that Shane could kill her. I could kinda see it having to do with Armond because of his chaotic character and way of dealing with Shane.

I kinda like Tanya (also I LOVE Jennifer Coolidge and her being in this show make me like it even more). However, I‘m afraid that she’s just using Belinda and won’t end up funding / going into business with her. She’s probably just „playing“ with the idea and doesn’t realize how big of an opportunity this is for Belinda and how serious she’s taking it.

For the Mossbacher family, I have yet to make up my mind about each character. It just seems that everyone in this family is way too focused on themselves.

Favorite Characters so far: Rachel, Quinn, Armond?
Least favorites: Shane (and mom), maybe Nicole & maaaayyybe Olivia
