Starting couples therapy, scared and nervous.

Never done therapy before, wife and I have talked about it but never took the step until now. 50’s, almost empty nesters, having a hard time living together as a couple again after 25 years of raising kids in a chaotic, busy, not horrible marriage. Just the distractions of having 4 kids around now down to 1 is throwing us for a loop and is forcing us to see the issues we’ve long ignored or didn’t know how to deal with.

Grew up in the old school “therapy is for psychopaths and criminals” household and never saw my parents fight.

I know a good therapist is supposed to tell you what you don’t wanna hear, and being the peacemaker and anti-conflict one of the pair of us, I’m usually blamed for and take the hit for the issues we’ve fight about. But dammit I’m scared of what’s going to come of it, and how do we/I trust this person to tell us what we need to do to learn to live together again in peace and be happy together?

I’m literally sitting in the parking lot before my appt waiting for my wife to show up and I’m rarely this nervous and scared.

Think I just needed to vent that somewhere.

Is there any reason to report drivers with phones in hands?

Motorcycle commuter, I have both front and rear cameras, and am going to add either a helmet cam or a 360 cam to my kit.

Just today i observed 3 drivers on 169 and 610 that were texting or operating their phones in both hands. No hands on the wheels. I have video and stills of license plates, timestamps and maybe faces.

Whats the best way to report these people? I know it’s probably pointless, but it may make me feel better and i know there will be no closure for me, but i have lost friends to distracted drivers and it sucks that there is zero accountability and seemingly no enforcement of this anymore.

First time going to a track day, what do I need to know?

My son signed up for a track day through motovid at road america in september. Neither of us have done anything like this before, but he got the itch to ride faster, so figured this would be the best way to make that happen. Info on the website is good, but me being the researcher I want to know about all the things that help make the day go better. They didn't have any pit info either, so I need to ask them about how that works.

So far I'm thinking I need to basically bring a simple pit kit with, pop up tent, tools, spares, service items, including bike stands since kickstands need to be wired or removed, generator, fans, seating, and comfort items like clothing changes, monkeybutt powder depending on temps, on bike camera kit with tethers,

as you can see I'm really good at overpacking and overthinking. I just wanna make this a fun enjoyable day for him, but not go too far overboard.

Thanks for any advice!

New Laptop, what's fastest way to populate it with my Photos Library

Main family photo library is on the MacMini at my house, wife mainly uses that for her projects and is what I would call the main source/destination of family media. Right now, the library is about 1.2TB going back to 2007. (lots of discussion about making yearly libraries, etc) anyway-

I've got a new macbook pro that I'll be using to make my own projects, grad videos, upcoming wedding videos and want to copy/sync that MacMini library to my own lappy. I have a 4tb Crucial SSD velcroed to the back of my screen, and I plan to use that as my main drive for the library.

I've heard 2 ways-

  1. Copy the library to the Crucial SSD, set it as the main library on my MBP then let icloud chew on it for what I hear could be a couple weeks to sync, and even then I hear of crashes, pauses, and no real way to tell the progress.
  2. just setup Photos on my MPB and let iCloud literally download everything on its own.

I want to have all originals on my MPB, so no "save space on this mac" stuff happening. I'll be using my MPB to make offsite backups of the library as well.

Which is the fastest/safest way to do this? We put pretty much everything into the shared family library.

edit 1: each of us do have our own icloud accounts and ID's tied together with the iCloud family function. I do have the 2tb iCloud+ plan.

EDIT 2: I took the long route and actually created a ChatGPT Apple Photos Engineer agent, and told it what I had, what I wanted, and pretty much said to make sure the MacMini library is updated and happy, then start a fresh library on my laptop, sign into iCloud and turn on iCloud Photos. Let it do its thing, optimizing disk space for now. its going well, its actually updating the numbers as it chews through it, and activity monitor is showing disk/cpu/network useage. I'll wait until that is done, then will figure out the Shared Library thing. And I learned a bunch at how to create a super basic Agent In ChatGPT Enterprise!

How to pull list from posts? And more Hammond organ music recs!

Other than manually creating a Spotify playlist by searching and going back and forth, has anyone made a tool that will make a playlist from all the songs in a post on here? I tried using my ChatGPT enterprise account to script something but it really didn’t work very well something to do with folded comments or whatever. I’m not a coder so no idea where to start.

Any ideas? Ideally a Spotify playlist but figured that there are a couple services that will import a csv file and create a playlist from that, so if it kicks out a spreadsheet that’s sweet too.

I did a deep clean of my truck after the head gasket job and I need to repack some everyday carry stuff. I’ve got tow straps and hitch stuff in the swing cases but what else do you all consider handy to have? I’ve got the under seat storage in the backseat to fill up too.
