Are you REALLY a Space Cowboy?
So you think you're a Space Cowboy? Well you thought so, until somebody pulls this abomination out connected to their Henry Big Boy. I'd just pick up my lever and go home. They win.

So it I recently picked up a cheapie RIA 1911 GI CS for my wife to play around with. She loves it, but hates the sights, which, duh. But the options seem limited for replacement. Talked to a couple 'smiths and neither wanted anything to do with it. I'm willing to buy a new slide, but I've been recommended against that also due to fitment issues. What are your thoughts on this? Anyone been there, done that?
I'll admit, I'm new to lever guns. Shot them, loved them, but never owned one. Just purchased my first Big Boy X (horrible name btw), and yes I'm gonna space cowboy it out (boo! hiss!. But I want it to be original, not just another Midwest/RPP setup. Anyone actually used this? Does it seem rugged enough and secure enough to utilize? Also never attached a stock using a Picatinny mount. Just seems sketchy, honestly.
Just an observation, but after doing some digging I'm pretty sure there are two types of 1911 owners: The ones that clean their gun after every 50-100 round range trip in a meticulous fashion, and those of who can't be bothered to even think about it until after it starts to jam. There doesn't appear to be any in between.
Apparently Fireboard has released a new controller specifically for the Gravity. Not the 1150/XT though, but soon according to them.
So I've now tried two different bore sights, and both of them suck. I need one with a better laser, one that shows up after more than 5 yards. I've been told you should zero it at 15 yards for optimal accuracy which makes sense to me. What's your experience here? Pic is to draw attention to the post.
I just had to laugh. Somebody was at the range today shooting a .500 S&W, and it was certainly drawing attention. Very few guns will rattle the walls and light up the entire lane when they're shot. He probably put 40 rounds through it. All I could imagine every time it went off was his bank account just slowly going down. Good on him though, if you're gonna have one at least shoot the bastard.
