Montreal Reccos!!

Hi u lovely people!

Please spam me with all your best Montreal recommendations! I have a few in mind (classics like archway, chuchai, chai-yo, Lola Rosa etc.) but looking for the must haves! Also, bar recs please! My friend tells me most wine bars in Montreal are natural wine bars? But I’d like ~regular wine haha. Or places with good cocktails. Not fussed about location too much.

Big bonuses for anyone who can point me towards a vegan bagel with vegan spreads. For some reason this is difficult to find?

Thank you thank you! ♥️

Might be a long shot, but does anyone have the Forks Over Knives Pumpkin Spice Bread recipe?

I’m so sad that their website is down and they are no longer posting :( their pumpkin spice bread was the EASIEST, most convenient recipe. I, who is not a baker by any stretch, could bake this easily and it would turn out every single time. I’d bring it to parties, work events, charity events etc. It’d always go down a treat. Im so sad I didn’t write the recipe down or save it. I couldn’t even access it via wayback machine, but I do have the link: https://shop.forksoverknives.com/recipes/vegan-desserts/pumpkin-spice-bread

If anyone happens to have this recipe, please please please share. I’m hoping by the magic of Reddit it can come back to me, especially now that autumn soon approaches.

Thank you in advance ♥️

Strattera and Birth Control?

Hello hello! I haven’t been on birth control in years but planning on going back on. I am now taking Strattera (previously on 80 mg, switching back to 40 mg after an accidental month+ long break lol). I’m curious about issues that BC may have brought up, or if any symptoms were experienced that were worse, and what form of BC you are on. I’m probably going to be going on a low dose birth control pill, and definitely not going to be getting an IUD inserted.

My last experience with the birth control pill was terrible. I was nauseous all the time, and I stopped taking Strattera because it was making me faint-y and nauseated. My blood pressure is also extremely low and i experience frequent hypotensive/tachychardic episodes (essentially POTS-like symptoms).

Thank youuuuuuu!!!! ♥️

Harry Potter (and the Philosopher’s Stone) Dinner Party Ideas

Hello all! My friends and I are hosting rotating Harry Potter eat-a-longs/taste the film parties. I’ve been assigned Philosopher’s Stone. I’m sure loads of you here have done this, any ideas for a menu and order/point of serving and decor? I really want to serve the HAPPEE BIRTHDAE HARRY cake but I don’t want to do the cake so early on, especially since the train scene is so soon after and there are loads of sweets Harry and Ron indulge in. Ugh dilemmas!

Thank you in advance!! :)

Reminder to take your Strattera with protein!!

This weekend I didn’t take my meds. Combination of I forgot, didn’t feel like it, I was stressed about something, wasn’t home at the time I take it etc etc.

Anyway I took my dosage today but totally forgot to take any protein. In fact, I was essentially taking it on an empty stomach (just typing this is making me feel sick). I’m on 80mg and I take a liquid form which is nasty.

Anyway! This is not my first time doing this, and just like clockwork, an hour or so later started getting an elevated heart rate, my blood pressure dropped so fast, my entire body was covered in sweat, i was gagging, I was getting super hot, and I just joined a meeting. I typed in brb into the chat, was preparing myself to have to throw up (I have emetaphobia too so that was really unpleasant), tried to do some box breathing, and physically tried to bring my heart rate down. Then, the chills started. At this point, I was on the floor but got up to grab a blanket and lay on the sofa for a bit until I felt better. Still not feeling GREAT but at least I am functioning! Even managed to eat some tofu, however, just the memory of this is making my heart race again lol

The last time this happened to me I was at work! Luckily I work in healthcare so was able to get to an occupational health nurse, and they put me in a bed and I lay there for like, 5 hours bc my BP kept dropping every time I’d go from supine to sitting. I think I had been really anxious, and that’s what triggered it, because I was watching security camera footage for an investigation I had been doing. Also, in all situations where this has happened, I think caffeine has been involved and it’s just not a good combo at all. I think I can only drink coffee when I’ve had protein, carbs, AND fats.

Sorry for the super long post! Has anyone else had this experience? Anyone have tips for raising BP? My BP has naturally always been low. Now on strat it’s even lower. Sometimes I can’t get out of bed in the mornings without getting dizzy, or going from sitting to standing too fast. Yesterday, I was intimate, and we had to stop midway because I couldn’t breathe/see. Even after sex, I sometimes am so dizzy for a long time. I hate feeling weak like this, because I’m already an orthostatic underweight vasovagal anemic 😂😭
