Getting to work with Lee Arenberg gave me a whole new appreciation for Pintel
I recently had the chance to work with Lee Arenberg on a film project and it was honestly pretty surreal after knowing him as Pintel for so long.
It also made me want to go back and rewatch Pirates because I forgot how much personality Pintel and Ragetti brought to those movies lol.
Curious what everyone thinks, what's your favorite Pintel moment from the series?
Movies with French New Wave influence
I’m looking for movie recommendations that fall somewhere between auteur crime drama, neo-noir, and coming-of-age.
Morally complicated characters, unconventional families or father figures, crime, loyalty, betrayal, dark humor, beautiful cinematography, that kind of thing.
We made a feature film inspired by the French New Wave. Would love to know what indie film people think.
Hey r/indiefilm!
Wanted to share our independent feature, FATHER FiGURES, with a community that genuinely cares about independent filmmaking.
The film takes inspiration from the French New Wave while doing its own thing with crime, family, morality, dark humor, and some pretty unconventional filmmaking.
It was made very much in the spirit of independent cinema: create with what you have, take risks, and make the movie you actually want to make.
We’re currently working on getting the film in front of a larger audience and would genuinely love feedback from other filmmakers and indie film lovers.
