I remember the hype in 2015 when Glowforge introduced, via crowdfunding, a relatively affordable laser for the consumer. We are here because we already know the story. It took a few years to get it to market. The company didn't really expand well into other products, but leaned into software as a service and pushed $50/month subscriptions, a. It also has had different financial struggles over the years.

Meanwhile, XTool, which also started from a small company makerblock that raised a meager $23,000 on Kickstarter in 2012 and eventually grew up into the XTool that we know today, with a plethora of hardware and pretty robust software. They're now owning the biggest chunk of market share. I was just wondering the other day if Glowforge would have had a different fate if it had made different decisions, or if it's just a reality of the difference between making business in the States and in China.

I definitely give Glowforge credit for being the first company to give an opportunity for what used to be only an industrial machine to the general public.

Hello while I enjoy cycling around Montre, . I don’t typically follow the races throughout the year. But I’d like to enjoy the UCI race coming up: understand which are the favourite teams, how the point system works, what to look out for, what’s interesting in each race?l etc.

Is there a good YouTube channel or website you’d recommend? I went to all the official sites, but they really geared towards people who already know all the basics and I would also like to see a Montreal perspective on it.

Have you integrated AI into your Odoo workflow?

I’ve been seeing ads for AI integrations with Odoo 17 (what I use), and I know Odoo 19 already includes some built-in AI features. Personally, I rarely find myself sitting at my desk thinking, “I wish AI could do this for me.” That said, maybe I’m overlooking areas where AI genuinely adds value.

For those using AI with Odoo, where has it actually helped? What advantages have you seen? And on the flip side, have you had any bad experiences or disappointments?

Curious to hear real-world feedback.

It’s honestly unacceptable how unreliable Odoo’s bank synchronization is, at least in Canada with BMO, the 3rd largest Canadian Bank.

If Odoo wants to position itself as a serious ERP platform and advertise aggressively across Canada and Montreal, then core accounting integrations need to work reliably. Our BMO connection constantly breaks every couple of weeks. I end up deleting the connection, reconnecting it, troubleshooting for hours, opening tickets, and hoping it works again temporarily.

What makes it worse is that the issues aren’t limited to disconnects. We’ve also had transactions imported from the wrong bank account, and duplicate transaction imports.

I understand the bank feed relies on a third-party provider (Yodlee), and I’m sure Odoo, the provider, and the bank each point fingers at one another. But from a customer perspective, that distinction doesn’t matter. We bought into the Odoo ecosystem expecting a stable accounting workflow.

To be fair, Odoo support did respond to many of our tickets and provided suggestions. The problem is that none of the proposed fixes have resulted in a stable, long-term solution.

For a modern ERP, bank synchronization cannot feel this flimsy and unreliable.

Hi!

My hair is dry, wavy or messy-curly, untamed. is there any chance I can get the smooth, or straight hair as imagined by chatgpt on the right?

I'm not looking for shine, just I wish it was straighter...

I currently use kundal honey and macadamia shampoo & treatment, 5-6 times a week. the treatment less, maybe 3-4 times.

Sometimes I use my wife's straightener on the longer hair in the front, it kind of works but I don't want to do it daily. and it can't reach on the shorter hair.

a blow dryer will leave waves.

I'm very ignorant when it comes to products and never used pomades, serums or anything. until recently in fact I would use whatever shampoo was on sale at Walmart.
