What AF settings would you recommend for the S5II/G9II for street photography?

I’ve been using my G9II and S5II for street photography and love the images, and the AF performs well most of the time, but at times I‘ve had days where the AF isn’t all there, missing focus on what would otherwise be great images.

I do notice quite a lot of AF settings in the menu. What do you recommend I tinker with to make things a bit snappier? I have both cameras updated to the latest 2025 firmware with those additional subject-detect modes.

If it helps, I typically shoot in aperture priority, and use the following lenses:

S5II: the Panasonic 35mm, 50mm and 85mm f/1.8 primes, the 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and the Sigma 16-28mm and 28-70mm f/2.8

G9II: Panasonic 12-35mm and 35-100mm f/2.8, and Panasonic 25mm f/1.7
