Advice on 10 year old santa fe
Hi everyone, need some honest advice. My 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe has some issues (burning oil as well). They told me at the dealership (here in Vaughan Ontario), has 117,000km. Should I fix it (get a few years out of it) or sell it as and get something else. The catalytic seems to be the big expense.
This is what the dealership said after assessing it:
Option 1 (OEM)
Parts : $3715.07+HST – Labour $507+HST – Subtotal - $4222.07+HST
Option 2 (Aftermarket)
Parts : $1499.67+HST – Labour $507+HST – Subtotal $2006.67+HST
Plus all the other items I will list below.
GDI Decarb service $700.83+HST
Replace spark plugs $350.68+HST
Replace PCV Valve $77.90+HST
Oil Change $120+HST
Engine Oil Flush $60+HST
Subtotal for this portion is $1309.41+HST
Option 1 overall estimated subtotal is $5531.48+HST
Option 2 overall estimated subtotal is $3316.08+HST
Please also note the difference in OEM to aftermarket parts is that OEM parts we give a 1 year/20,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty on parts that were installed.
In terms of aftermarket parts there is no warranty on these items at all parts or labour.
If you would like to proceed with either option, please let me know as I will need prepayment on the parts as they are special order parts. How we would do this is I would split up the parts to be prepaid for and then you would just pay the labour on the day of installation.
