The Vegan Society Reveals Fresh New Look For World’s Original Vegan Trademark

What do we think of the new logo? I loved the old logo/font (even have a tattoo of the V with the leaf) but looks like it’s a response to some new EU regulations that work to reduce greenwashing in symbols by restricting nature imagery.

Pregnancy has made me even more vegan

Title and content are just being a bit cheeky: obviously you’re vegan or you’re not, or a food is vegan or it’s not.

I’ve been vegan over 20 years, since I was 15, and I’m now in the midst of my first pregnancy into the second trimester.

Over the years I’ve read how some people get different cravings throughout, for non-vegan sweet treats or even meat. I knew even with the most powerful cravings I would just never eat anything non-vegan, it’s not ever going to be an option to me, but part of me was worried I’d be stressed out/guilty even thinking about it.

WELL, turns out I can’t handle even meat-type flavourings - can’t have veggie chicken stock, can’t have chicken-flavoured soup, can’t eat a beyond burger, definitely can’t even eat seitan because it’s too close to meat. Literally makes me gag. Tofu only.

Don’t even want vegan ice cream or cake, let alone be worried about being tempted by the local Italian joint’s tiramisu.

I only want fruit, vegetables and wholegrains. I am such a junk food vegan so it’s very funny. We normally eat some sort of faux meat at least 4-5 times a week. Now just eating chickpeas and oranges all day.

Anyway just thought I’d put it out there as I would have found this comforting to read when I was worried back in the day!
