Where to find a Chinese Negotiator/Translator to Source Manufacturers

Hi everyone, I'm looking to hire a translator who knows the jewelry niche really well, and can help me negotiate with Chinese suppliers. This person needs to be able to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and is an expert in the jewelry industry.

I would like to hire this person directly or through a business-translation service agency that I can rely on. And I would like to have this person travel with me from tradeshows to factories, visiting multiple cities and provinces in the span of 2 weeks or so.

For anyone who is knowledgeable about this - where can I find such services?

Additional questions:

  1. Is “business interpreter” the right term?
  2. Where should I find someone legitimate with strong reviews?
  3. What should I expect to pay per day?
  4. What red flags should I watch out for?

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has done sourcing trips, factory visits, or trade shows in China.

Best Mattress Store in the DMV?

Hey guys, I live in Maryland and looking to try out a few mattresses but I'm not too sure where to go. Between Mattress warehouse and mattress firm, I don't really know enough to have a preference of which is the better store. I just know that when I walk in, I am pretty much talking to a salesman for an hour as I lay on mattresses. Help me cut to the chase- where should I go to try as many different mattresses as possible, with reasonable deals and with actually helpful salespeople that are more keen on actually helping customers instead of just trying to sell me on the most expensive stuff?

Thank you!

Hey guys, I could use some advice. I use a separate QC/prep team before inventory gets shipped to Amazon. They found a few defective units and sent them back to the manufacturer for repair. Manufacturer attempted repair once, but 2 units still came back defective.

Manufacturer is now saying they cannot repair them further and offered either a refund or replacement units in my next shipment, which is fine with me.

The issue is they also want the defective units shipped back to them.

What concerns me is:

  1. Manufacturer already thinks my QC team is being “too strict”

  2. If they believe the defects are acceptable/minor, I worry the units could accidentally (or intentionally) slip back into future shipments

  3. I plan to scale order quantities significantly, so process control matters a lot to me

My thinking is:

- Repairable defects → send back for repair

- Non-repairable defects → QC destroys/keeps locally, manufacturer compensates separately

Am I overthinking this, or is this a reasonable policy to prevent conflict of interest and defective inventory recirculating back into production?

Thanks for reading, appreciate any feedback you have!

Hey guys, I'm thinking of signing up to counter hijack sellers that would jump onto my listing and win my buy box.

I'm aware that:

  • I need to put the amazon transparency sticker on all my products across all sales channels whether it's other online stores or brick-and-mortar store; it must be on all products.
  • It's going to increase unit cost a bit to apply those stickers.
  • Current FBA products will be "grandfathered" in, and I would just need to apply these stickers to all future incoming shipment

With all these points, I still think Transparency is a great way to create a "moat" against hijack sellers/resellers/etc...

But am I being too naïve? For those that are using it right now, what are your experiences? Are there any hidden cons that most people forget to consider before signing up for it? Thank you!

Hi, I have brand registry and a trademark. This morning I found one of my variations is selling at cost. I realized that even though it's my listing and my product, another seller has owned my buy box and selling severely under priced.

I tried filing for a violation on brand registry, but their requirements to submit is very strict. It requires that I buy the seller's product, inspect to see if violation holds ground, and if it does, I can file a violation after. But this seller has a delivery time of 1 month, I can't wait that long. And I know for a fact he doesn't have my product. I've only been selling for 5 months, no resellers/wholesale/distributors, only direct to consumer, I have a unique design crafted completely originally by me, with a single supplier who signed a non-compete, and from this seller's track record, he has consistently done this to other listings with many customers complaining that they have not received the item they bought.

I went ahead and bought his product just so I can provide brand registry an order number to submit a violation report. I submitted it, and immediately 1 minute after it sent me an auto-rejection email saying that my complaint doesn't match the infringement type (trademark infringement).

I lowered my price just to win back the buy box, and it worked. But long term, how do I kick him off and keep other unauthorized sellers off my listing?

I plan on keep talking to amazon support, and keep trying other ways to reach brand registry. But has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
