how to not be an annoying white neighbor?

Hopefully this community is the right place to post this, and it doesn't come off as me being an asshole- and if so please let me know. I'll preface by stating that of course you by no means have a responsibility to educate me on this, but I think real feedback from real people might be helpful.

My roommate and I (both white) recently moved into a smaller apartment complex in a slightly less wealthy/primarily white part of town. We've had an easy transition and are enjoying the new place, but the only concern has been our neighbors (the only others on the top floor, directly across from our door).

We share one wall with them and we're understanding about some regular noise, but we've been hearing a LOT of fighting, screaming at each other, and what sounds like whooping their young kids with them screaming/crying. Look, it's not my business how they parent, but I'm not sure if I should be concerned about it or not since I grew up with white parents who didn't even like to use "time out" as punishment. The neighbors are black, hence why I wanted to post on a group not made up of incels/Karens, and I'd like to be as careful as possible to avoid coming off as a jerk or overdramatic about something that might not be a real issue in various other cultures.

Is there a line? What would be the best response if it is crossed?

Thank you for your time :)

The death of 24hr pharmacies?

Learned over the weekend that my town is closing our only 24hr pharmacy (Walgreens). We’re a pretty established college town with multiple CVS, Walgreens, and Kroger pharmacies, but this was the only 24hr store within 30 minutes or more. As someone working in outpatient, plus a close friend at urgent care, it’s going to be tough to get patients what they need.

I know Walgreens is drowning right now (I used to work there and escaped thankfully) but is there a specific reason why 24hr stores are losing money? Is it because they have to pay more per hour or since they don’t do vaccines at night and lose money on scripts? Just curious since they had a LOT of business.

World Cup 2026 Updates?

Anyone know when/how/to what degree the World Cup, specifically the Algerian practice base, is going to affect us here in Lawrence? Maybe this has been asked but I haven't seen anything under this topic for 3 months, and I think some things have changed since then.

After underwhelming hotel booking stats came out for the KC metro, I'm unsure on where things are at (as are a lot of others, I think). I'm not sure I'd want to travel to the US right now either, but I guess sports can make people do crazy things.

Has anyone found a schedule/itinerary with specific dates the team will be here?

Seeking advice from others with migraine

My PMDD has been a problem for a longggg time, but I finally had things (somewhat) under control with continuous Yasmin for a couple years and at least was bleeding less frequently (although the mood symptoms seemed to flare up towards the end). Then I started getting migraines (with aura, too). They run in my family so it’s not surprising, and I’ve got them under control with Nurtec thanks to me winning my battle with UnitedHealthcare.

…but now I can’t be on Yasmin anymore because of the stupid stroke risk. OBGYN took me off it and gave me Slynd (progestin only). I wisely waited until after finals were over before making the switch out of anticipation that it would be bad, and oh yeah, I was right. After almost a week post estradiol, I spent my entire shift trying not to cry in front of patients yesterday for no reason. I was so overstimulated that I wanted to scream at all my coworkers, I couldn’t think clearly, and at the end of my shift I ran through my rx for Yasmin (pros of working in a pharmacy), slapped a label on that bitch, and told my pharmacist “I don’t even care if I have a stroke anymore!”

I then realized that taking it wouldn’t solve anything immediately and would only further mess up my lamotrigine levels (which, oh yeah, no one caught the fact that my levels would double after stopping an estrogen, which is on the FDA label actually!). So I woke up today and messaged my doctor because this shit isn’t gonna work. I’m hoping they’ll accept the liability of doing a short term estradiol patch to help with the withdrawals and keep things steadier than PO, but I’m just so frustrated.

And before anyone asks, SSRIs don’t do shit for me due to a genetic allele I’ve got. I’m on an SNRI but I’m convinced this is a hormonally driven situation at this point and I can’t add any other psych meds.

I want a GnRH agonist next but how does that work with migraines?? This whole thing is infuriating. Anyone else?

March: Noticed some random music videos in my watch history that I definitely did not watch. Assumed it was just autoplaying after I finished my typical content, and shrugged it off.

Early April: Harassed my roommate and accused her of using my YouTube Premium account to binge Justin Bieber clips. She denied the allegations and said maybe I’m watching it in my sleep because my subconscious wants him so bad, and anyway, she has YouTube premium too so why would she use mine.

This week… It’s gone TOO FAR. Someone has been watching Christian worship videos, Addison Rae, and Bruno Mars back to back. I can’t shrug it off anymore. This has to stop.

I do use my Google login for a lot of sites, but I have dual authentication, biometrics, etc set up and I signed out of everything not too long ago. I don’t use my account on random devices very often. I’ve checked my account’s device list and I don’t see anything that’s obviously sketchy, but I also don’t know how to identify them when it just says random numbers and United States.

Obviously I can try signing out of everything and resetting my password, but any other thoughts??
