This isn't a flintlock pistol - it's an essential multitool!

Screwdriver 'Barrel' (interchangeable bits), pen/pencil 'ramrod', Hammer 'Butt', a spirit level in the body and the coolest feature, a hidden tape (retractable!) hidden in the body that comes out underneath the barrel. Yes, all parts work as intended!

Had fun building this thing.

Back again with another pirate DiWHY - the 'Craftlock' - a multitool that is disguised as a flintlock!

Edit: I live in the UK, folks. The police over here will wander over, ask to see it, chuckle, hand it back and tell me not to wave it around threateningly. I'm not going to get shot over it!

I made a pirate ship on a longboard...

I enjoy making the crazy ideas that pop into my head that most people dismiss, and this is one of the results. I call it 'The Landlubber'.

Yes, it's rideable, it has a Bluetooth speaker, a duck in a dinosaur costume as a figurehead, a working compass, storage space, a sail that you can furl or unfurl...

Mostly made from scrap wood and questionable judgement.

My wife thinks I'm nuts.

What do you guys think?

YT build video if you are curious - https://youtu.be/wqoTayfQlXs

I'm really proud of this, in a very ashamed way!

Build video now up for the pirate ship longboard!

Finally finished editing. Hope you enjoy the watch!

Also, does this come under the arts and crafts or humour and memes flair? I can't decide...

I turned mylongboard into a pirate ship. Welcome aboard 'The Landlubber'!

I'm one for crazy and pointless builds.. and my love of pirates, the fact that I'm landlocked, wanted a pirate ship and have zero impulse control meant that I got an idea and had to make it a reality.

Meet 'The Landlubber'.

All parts made out of scrap wood I had lying about, and it took me about a month to finish.

This land pirate vessel boasts my custom flag, a pointless anchor, a duck in a dinosaur costume (or the Quacken, if you will!) as the figurehead, bluetooth speaker for pirate tunes on the go, a robot (Yarrbot!) Navigator, a sail that can be furled and unfurled, some storage space in the cabin and a compass.

I will make video on the making process and riding on a new YouTube channel. I'll happily drop the link if anyone is interested.

And yes, I've had some looks and comments while riding it about!

Quick video of the Stormlute I made.

I'll make a better video when I have time...

All wired and buttoned up!

She is ready for strings!

After about 3 hours of wiring and testing, she now has volume and tone pots, a pickup selector switch for the guitar side and a mandolin/guitar selector switch.

And I still had a spare hole I'd accidentally made (I can't count, clearly) so it has a killswitch momentary button as well.

I was hoping to label the switches things like calm/storm for mando/guitar, rigging/hull for pickup selector, and one for the killswitch that simply said 'keelhaul' - but unfortunately due to size restraint on the top (and switch depths) I was unable to manage this one. Still. I may find a way yet.

I don't have time to string her today so I don't know how she sounds. Rest assured I will post up the results.

Ain't she pretty, though? This may be the best (but most insane) thing I have built to date.

Finally going to finish this... thing

Alright, well after nearly two years since I built this ~~beautiful~~ thing, I'm finally rewiring it correctly. I was going to pay to get it done, but I'm gonna do it myself (properly, this time) as the only bloke anywhere near me wanted £300 to do it, and even then I could tell he didnt really want to do it anyway. So I have now learnt how to wire it, and I'll save myself about £200 (need to get some parts and tools).

I'm glad I get to do it myself, nothing like the feeling of having ruined your own horrible work.

Or something like that anyway..

As you can see, it's been repainted since I made it, with its own logo (music note combined with a lighting bolt) and it has been renamed (*again*) to 'Stormlute'.

I may or may not record the wiring process, depends if those who remember me building it in the first place are still interested, and if can find an easy way to record. But I plan on debuting it in a video at some point.
