Weight gain and OMAD?

I’m currently on day 4 of OMAD and I’m 2lb higher than normal.

I’m 5’4” started at 179, now 181.

I’ve been eating less than 1200 cals a day, 90g protein, I track by using a scale, and logging it into lose it app, and I’m getting over 8k steps daily.

I drink 100oz of water/daily and some electrolytes too.

What am I doing wrong?

Calorie Deficit Reset?

I’ve lost 16 lbs since April, but I’ve been stalled for about the past month. During that time, I’ve actually lowered my calories a bit and recently added regular exercise on top of my daily walking, but the scale still isn’t moving.

Next week I’m going on vacation for about a week, and I’m considering eating at maintenance while still keeping up my normal walking and exercise instead of staying in a deficit.
Has anyone tried a one-week diet break like this?

Did it help when you returned to your deficit, or did it make no difference? I’m mostly looking for experiences and whether you think it’s a good idea.

How did you lose the weight?!

I’ve been stuck in a binge/restrict cycle and I’m feeling really discouraged.

I’m 17 months postpartum, 5’4”, 23 years old, and trying to go from 184 lbs to 140 lbs by January . For weeks at a time I’ll stick to my calorie goal (usually 1300–1500 calories), hit 10–12k steps daily, and do everything “right” then get on the scale and only see 1–2 pounds lost, or sometimes no change at all. It makes me feel like all my hard work isn’t paying off, and then I end up bingeing again. I always keep to my steps though.

Thankfully I usually don’t go over maintenance, but I feel awful physically afterward. Lately my stomach has been hurting too, which I think is from my food choices and digestive issues.

I also have a lot of food noise. When I was breastfeeding, I struggled with supply, and the only way I could produce enough milk was by eating until I was uncomfortably full. I think I may have developed some habits from that time that I’m having a hard time breaking.

I’m starting to wonder if I need to focus on improving my relationship with food before pushing harder on weight loss.

Has anyone been through something similar? I’m considering taking a week away from calorie counting and instead focusing on:

* Whole foods
* Protein and fiber
* Drinking enough water
* 10–12k steps daily
* Eating until satisfied instead of tracking

Then going back to a moderate deficit afterward. I’m open to hearing any tips or thoughts!

I’ve also been feeling so angry at myself because everyone I know who had babies at the same time as me are at their dream/goal weight and I just feel like a total failure.

I’ve always had issues with losing weight, and before pregnancy I did lose 35lb and was able to keep it off for 2 years, but it was because I was severely depressed, and now I am just having a really hard time losing again.

Sorry this is so long!

Having trouble losing weight consistently postpartum…

I’m a 23-year-old female, 5’4”, 183 lbs, and about 17 months postpartum.

My goal is to get down to 140 lbs by the end of January, and according to my calorie-tracking app, eating around 1,550 calories per day should get me there. I also average about 10,000–12,000 steps per day.

The thing I’m struggling with is that for the past 3 months I’ve been eating around 1,300 calories most days. However, during the week before and of my period, I have a really hard time sticking to that calorie goal and usually end up eating around maintenance anyway.

Because of that, I decided to increase my calories to 1,550 every day in hopes that it would be easier to stay consistent month-round. But now I’m worried that eating more means I won’t lose weight or that my progress will be too slow.

Does 1,550 calories sound reasonable for someone my size and activity level?

I’d love to hear your experiences or thoughts. Thanks! 😊

Can’t sleep in a calorie deficit !

On day 3 of my calorie deficit, (female, 5’ 4”, 189lb- 1300 calories, 12k steps a day + 3 weighted walks weekly)

I’m having a hard time sleeping! I’m not even hungry I just feel so weird and can’t sleep. And the frustrating this is I feel tired, but I keep waking. Like last night I woke 4-5 times and got 4 hours of sleep. Is this normal?

I went into Ziggi’s and ordered a sugar free frozen beach bum with strawberry boba. This tastes amazing and now I’m scared I somehow ordered it full sugar 😭 I’m estimating 120cal if they made it right, but the label is confusing me

I recently moved out of a place I lived in for 2 years and I’m having an issue with my security deposit. We always paid on time, and kept up our end of the lease.

At move-out, they only mentioned but with no photo proof:
-bent blind slats
-one blind with possible pet chew marks

I agreed to pay for the blind with the chew marks. The bent slats were already like that when I moved in.

Later, they told me I’d only be charged for that one blind. But when I got my deposit back, I was charged $400+ for multiple blinds.

Well I contacted them about it with proof. And now they’re bringing up a “broken corner,” which was never mentioned before. And are saying my picture gives proof for the bent blinds but not the corner. They’re also saying they can’t determine from prior photos whether the damage existed before I moved in, so they just decided to charge me.

The issue is:

-management changed right before move-out, so they claim they don’t have the original move-in photos. But still they should find a way to get them from the other agency right? Not just charge me blindly.

- i do have photos showing the blinds were already damaged, and I sent them. But they basically said is it was the landlords decision. And so I have to pay.

-They also never provided me with photo proof of the chew marks or new damage, just said they had taken pictures.

This landlord has also tried to charge me for questionable things in the past, so this feels like a pattern. I’m fine paying for damage I actually caused, but those blinds were in bad shape, couldn’t be pulled up, and bent when I got there, and I know she knows that.

Do I have any chance of getting that money back? I know it’s only like $100-200 but we are struggling, we need it.

I’m 23, and 16 months postpartum and have been on a health journey trying to lose about 50 pounds. I’ve been pretty consistent for the last two months, with maybe only 4–7 days at maintenance. Otherwise, I’ve stayed in at least a small calorie deficit, usually around 100–500 calories per day.

I average 10k–15k steps daily and, over the past two weeks, I’ve been doing cardio workouts 3 times a week for about 20–30 minutes each.

So far, I’m only down 5 pounds, and I’m starting to feel really frustrated. My goal was to lose around 8 pounds per month, but I don’t know how realistic that is or how to actually achieve it.

Right now I aim for around 1,600 calories per day and try to get over 100g of protein.

Do I need to increase my workouts or be stricter with my diet? Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice?
