Is Zonli the same or different than a general memory foam mattress topper?

Hello, I have been looking into trying out Zonli and am wondering if it is any different from a memory foam mattress topper? I spent months sleeping on the floor on a memory foam mattress topper and it was horrible. I have seen some pictures of the inside of a Zonli showing that it is egg crate foam. I am wondering if there is something different about Zonli that makes it better for floor sleeping than a general memory foam mattress topper?

I would like to one day invest in an authentic shikifuton but for now can go only try out an entry level option.

Also, would love to hear of anyone’s experience comparing Zonli with Fuli, Emoor, or D&D? They’re not as expensive as an authentic shikifuton, but I am wondering if they are worth the higher price than Zonli as an entry level option?

Thank you!

Experiences with Zonli?

Hey everyone, I’d love to hear of your experience with sleeping on Zonli please! I’ve been very interested in floor sleeping since seeing Natasha’s videos. I was looking into purchasing from Futonbedsfromjapan or FutonTokyo but the wait times are long, and I don’t know if I want to invest that much in it right now.

I’m tired of my regular mattress. I’m interested in floor sleeping to help relieve back and neck pain/stiffness/tension. I’d like to try Zonli, but there are many bad reviews. Years ago I spent many months sleeping on the floor on a memory foam mattress topper and it was horrible. I’m wondering if Zonli would be no different than that? I know it’s an egg crate foam.
I’m interested in the 4 inch, aware that it is not truly 4 inches.

Want to take the plunge, I like that Zonli is quicker and way more affordable. I just wonder if it will be so low quality that it’s not worth it.

I cosleep with my child and so whatever I get will be a queen size.

Would love to hear of experiences with Zonli please! Or other alternatives like Fuli, Emoor, D&D, which all have very mixed reviews as well. It would be good to hear if those options are worth the extra cost compared to Zonli or if they’re really not better than Zonli. Thanks!

Love the new changes!!

I originally adored this app. and then all of the changes made it a lot less interesting and special. and now the changes they just made feels like it brings it back to what made it so special originally! but with a fresh energy. Happy and grateful that the shared experiences are back. As well as loving the new design in the section of our personal pattern and transits. It’s very cool to see an app go through trial and error, experimentation, and come to what it is today. Feels really right now!

The insights of this app are always so deep and reflecting the understanding I’ve come into myself. It’s affirming to then see I’m going through a transit that is saying the same thing. I’ve never experienced a more intuitive interpretation of these energies than The Pattern!

I am so close to purchasing a shikibuton from futonbedsfromjapan. I sleep on a “regular” mattress on my stomach and wake up with back and neck pain and feel stiff. If I get the shikibuton I plan on sleeping on my back. I recently found out that sleeping on your back can lead to sleep apnea and snoring, and also the possibility of it contributing to dementia although more studies are needed. I’d love to hear from anyone here who sleeps on their back -has it made you snore or cause sleep apnea? I think it would be the best position to relieve back and neck pain. Also interested in hearing if sleeping on your back on the floor has caused sleep paralysis or not, which I’d like to avoid.

I spend an hour doing yoga, feel amazing, and then sleep undoes everything! It will be so wonderful to do yoga, go to sleep, wake up and not feel that sleep has undone everything yoga helps with.

Another hesitation is giving up the superficial comfort of a bed. I understand it causes pain rather than comfort, but in the moment it feels like comfort. Sleeping on the floor goes out of the comfort zone.

I have slept on the floor multiple times when staying at others’ homes. Most of the times were on a memory foam pad which was awful. One of the other times was on a futon from j-life for a few months. I actually really enjoyed the futon from j-life, it was very comfortable and is what got me interested in looking for a shikibuton. I’ve since read the posts about how j-life is not the real deal. I witnessed how heavy and bulky they are to move! and they don’t fold well. but the experience of sleeping on it was nice. When I went back to my house, I was relieved to have a couch, but I missed the j-life futon. I think I preferred the j-life futon to a mattress and I hope I will feel that way (or better) about the real deal from futonbedsfromjapan. although I know it’s way thinner than j-life. I did sleep on my stomach on the j-life futon, maybe I wouldn’t have liked it if I had slept on my back.
