Made some protection for my old Tolkien collection

I recently bought a new set of Lord of the Rings, but I felt bad for my old paperback editions. They are 1999 editions of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, a 1998 edition of Unfinished Tales, and a 2007 edition box set of the Lord of the Rings

They deserved some care, so I made book covers in Inkscape and printed them (they are small enough to cover with A4 paper). I Don't have a colour printer, so added some colour with pencils. Just the old design but in white, with a few small changes to make them fit together better. Turned a shoebox into a slipcase, with some cutting, taping and gluing.

Very happy with the result, but I also found out my printer's toner is terrible quality. It's already rubbing off.

Last two picture are the rest of my modest collection (so far, I have a long wishlist):

  • 2003 film tie-in edition of Lord of the Rings
  • Alan Lee illustrated hardcover boxset
  • The Maps of Middle-Earth by Brian Sibley, with fold out maps and illustrations by John Howe
  • A Middle-Earth Traveller, by John Howe. Just arrived today, gorgeous art book.

Final picture has Journeys of Frodo by Barbara Strachey, paperback. Arrived only a few days ago. Hasn't been in print for decades, but I found a somewhat reasonably priced used one on Amazon. Less than 50 euro including shipping. Not the best condition, but no structural damage and the usual prices for this book can easily reach in the hundreds. Very happy with it, beautiful book, I don't understand why it's no longer in print.

This one definitely could do with some protection, but an A4 cover won't cut it (or won't cover it). Definitely going to need a slipcase and a book cover with some heavier paper.

Quality PC controllers without clicky buttons?

TL:DR info:

  • Budget: around 100 euro, but I could stretch it up to 150 or even 200 if it really ticks all the boxes
  • Country: Belgium. Can buy online but prefer to order from webshops within the EU
  • Compatible with PC (Steam input supported)
  • Controller Features: TMR sticks, extra (back)buttons, wireless preferred but not required, face/shoulder buttons that aren't (too) clicky/loud
  • Games: Elden Ring is probably the best representative of the kind of game I use the controller for.
  • Other controllers by comparison: love the general feel of the DualSense, but it doesn't have the TMR sticks or back buttons. Don't really need/like haptic feedback. Have tried X-box one and Elite 2, disliked clicky buttons.

I'm looking to replace the DualSense controller I've been using for PC gaming for years, for something with TMR sticks and some extra back buttons, with a budget of around 150 euro at most (might stretch to 200). However, I really dislike many of the clicky, harsh buttons I've tried in the past, especially for face and shoulder buttons. That's why I've always ended up back with Playstation controllers. The DualSense is my reference point for what I like buttons to feel like.

For reference, I also have an x-box one controller. The face buttons are too loud and a bit "harsh" to press, as opposed to how soft/smooth/quiet they feel with a DualSense. I'm fine with the d-pad, it's more clicky than the DualSense, but not too loud and it isn't used as much as the face buttons. The bumpers are also too clicky. I have tried an X-Box Elite 2, but had the same dislike for buttons. Was around 180 euro, which I might be willing to spend, but not on something that annoys me.

I've been looking at stores near me, but none of them have showroom controllers that you can try out. If push comes to shove, I can always order some controllers online and send back the ones I don't like. At the right webshops, that's free. But it seemed right to ask here for suggestions first.

So, any suggestions for decent quality controllers, with TMR sticks, back buttons, but without too much clickyness? I mostly play single player games (think Elden Ring) and don't really have a need for things like exceptional precision for FPS. Just good overall quality, and sticks that don't start drifting.

A few I've had my eye on:

  • 8bitdo pro 3: I read it used to have loud face buttons which have been improved. But I'm assuming they still are quite clicky. Otherwise, it has all my requirements for the same price as a new DualSense.
  • 8BitDo Ultimate 2: Same as above, but I'm wondering if the buttons have a different feel
  • GameSir G7 pro: saw it advertised as clicky, so I'm not hopeful
  • GameSir Supernova: I'm sure I read somewhere that the face buttons are quite soft, is that true? What about the shoulder buttons? Also, back buttons don't look like they are in a nice spot.
  • Gamesir G7 SE: Same as above, though not wireless
  • Something called eSports Controller from a Dutch company, which appears to be modified DualSense controllers. Not the worst idea, considering I like the feel of Dualsense. But it is getting pretty expensive, and I'm not a fan of the bulky looking back paddle module, so I want to look to other brands as well
  • I've heard of Scuf controllers, are they any good? I'm being vague, the large Dutch webshop I was using for reference just stopped working.

Looking for advice on buying a new controller (alternative to my DualSense)

I've mostly been using a DualSense controller on my PC for many years, but my current one is starting to show its age. So time for a new one.

I'm considering buying a third party controller, but I really like the feel of a DualSense. I've tried a few other controllers, but so far they've all had buttons that were too "clicky", and just didn't feel right. For example, I also have an x-box one controller. I don't like how the shoulder buttons feel like mouse clicks, and the clicking sound of the face buttons and d-pad. I've tried the x-box elite with the same issues.

Are there alternative controllers with a similar feel to a Sony DualSense? Especially the soft feel and quietness of the buttons? Budget would be around 150 euro

The reason I'm looking for alternatives is things like Hall-Effect sticks and back paddles. I could buy a DualSense Edge, replacing the sticks with Hall Effect/TMR ones once they develop stickdrift. But that is getting very expensive, with a short battery life and only two back paddles to boot. Another alternative is buying a regular DualSense with TMR joysticks, I found a reasonably local store that makes them, well within my budget. But then I don't have back paddles. Not a deal breaker, but I would prefer it.

Any advice?

Anyone know why Revo Uninstaller suddenly has tiny icons for me?

Edit (solved): The problem was with the windows display scaling. This thing:

This meant everything is 300% larger, except specifically some icons in the app

Went to the application .exe file, right click Properties>Compatibility>Change high DPI settings>High DPI scaling override, set to "System (Enhanced):

This fixes the issue. Icons now scale with the display scaling.

Did a clean install of Windows 11 and redownloaded an installed Revo Uninstaller. But I don't remember the icons being that small. There's a "show small icons' option, but that's unchecked (and makes the icons even smaller when checked). Is this an issue somewhere in my windows settings?

By comparison, this is what's it's supposed to look like according to their website:

Some question about equalizer settings for my Sennheiser HD 599 SE

Just bought these headphones, and noticed that the bass was quite a bit more pronounced than the HD569 I was using before. For example in this video. I'm sure Dr. Tobias Capwell has a lovely booming voice in real life, but this was a bit much. I never touched equalizers before, but some googling brought me here.

https://preview.redd.it/idv85avj8h8h1.png?width=2480&format=png&auto=webp&s=6869cae28387cabe83b0f9a7f5df7e61ab8c7b74

It sounds better, though still a bit much for me in the bass department. Is that just a matter of reducing the Gain Values for 105 and 165 hertz?

Before I do that, I want to know if I applied the parameters correctly, or if I missed something. I only adjusted the 10 frequencies, gain values, qualities and filters, and Pre Amplifying at the top there. Does this look right?

Also, little side note: I downloaded the PDF files from the dropbox (both standard and Graphic EQ), but when opened in Adobe Acrobat, the Graphic EQ is named Parametric EQ. Shouldn't it be the other way around, the standard file being Parametric EQ?

Edit: Lol, just noticed that reddit made the example video I linked into the thumbnail for this post. I forgot that would happen.

Normally, attacks with both weapons are done with the block button. I find this really annoying and it discourages me from dual wielding. Is there any mod that binds the dual wield attacks to the attack button, allowing the block button to remain a block?

I've been looking on the Nexus, but no luck so far.
