Looking for a Leeds-based electronics/ESP32 person to help build a small prototype

I'm developing an early-stage PropTech prototype for monitoring temperature/humidity and microclimate conditions in homes.

The first version is very simple: ESP32-C3 + SHT40 temperature/humidity sensor + small e-ink display + battery + local data logging.

I'm looking for someone in Leeds who could help me assemble/build the first working prototype.

This isn't a production device or complicated commercial PCB yet .I mainly need someone comfortable with ESP32, sensors and basic firmware.

Happy to pay for the work. Ideally I'd like to meet locally and build/test it together.

If you're interested or know someone suitable, please DM me.

Looking for co founder.

Hi everyone,

I'm building SIRA, an AI-powered pattern awareness app for people with Type 1 Diabetes using Multiple Daily Injections (MDI).

The goal isn't to give dosing advice. It's to help users understand why their insulin sensitivity changes by identifying patterns across sleep, stress, activity, and other lifestyle factors.

I've completed the business strategy, financial model, user research framework, and I'm now validating the idea with potential users. I'm looking for a technical co-founder to lead product development.

Tech stack: React Native (or React), Supabase, TypeScript.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys building early-stage products, wants meaningful equity, and is interested in digital health.

If that sounds interesting, send me a DM with a bit about yourself and what you've built.

Do Innovator Founder Visa endorsement bodies realistically expect £10k+ from student/graduate founders?

Anyone here on the UK Innovator Founder Visa as a recent graduate/student founder?

A lot of endorsement bodies seem to expect at least around £10k+ in available funds or financial projections for the first 2 years. But realistically, many student founders or fresh graduates don’t have that kind of savings sitting around.

In my case, max I could realistically bootstrap personally is probably around £5k.

So I’m curious:

- What are other early-stage founders doing?

- Are people joining accelerators/incubators for backing?

- Raising angel/pre-seed before endorsement?

- Using grants/university support?

- Or are endorsement bodies more flexible if the idea has strong potential?

My startup idea is in healthtech/AI, so development itself already has operational + compliance costs.

Would genuinely appreciate hearing real experiences from founders who went through this route recently.

Been testing a few LLM security tools and most feel similar, run attack suites, generate reports, done.

But that’s all synthetic.

I’m thinking of building something that sits in front of real usage instead:

  • local proxy in front of LLM APIs
  • flags prompt injection / PII leaks in real time
  • logs stay local (nothing leaves by default)
  • open-source core (so it’s auditable)
  • optional anonymised telemetry for attack patterns

Core idea:
learn from real-world failures, not just test cases.

Big questions I can’t answer yet:

  • would your org even allow something like this?
  • would you ever enable telemetry (even anonymised)?
  • is this actually useful beyond curiosity?

If you’re working on ML infra / security, would you actually try this?
Be blunt.
