Rent a House for 1 Month (Is it even possible in Moradabad)

Hi guys.

My marriage is going to be held in March 2027 and my current house is not big enough to accomodate guests.

Any leads on where to get a house rented for a month or any solutions for this? I don't want to rely on relatives home or neighbours. I can afford it and need a stay for 1 month.

Also, is this even possible in Moradabad?

Locality I live is Deputy Ganj but work a job in IT sector in Pune.

Please note that I'm a muslim so non-veg food will be cooked inside the home. But I'll ensure to treat that house like my own and ensure cleanliness

I was walking on the road and saw this hand-painted shop advertisement

Yesterday I was walking on the road in my city and this huge hand painted shop advertisement caught my attention.

Being a designer, I was very curious and stopped there to look at it for 5 minutes.

My mind instantly went into typography critique. Shadows, 3D fonts, Gradients, multiple languages.

If this was done by me in my college, my professors would've roasted me in the juries(design exams).

But here, when I looked closely, I realised that it works, and works too well.

Then a question came "Is typography really how we are taught in design schools? Perfect alignment, clean/minimal?

If yes then how was this paintjob able to grab my attention?

I clicked a photo of it and wrote a typography focused article around it: https://emoris.com/why-indian-street-typography-looks-nothing-like-your-design-textbook/

My Credit Card Collection (Just 3 Months into CC)

Slice limit: 3.75L

SBI limit: 1.81L

I started with Slice CC 3 months ago (after getting rejected by SBI, HDFC, Amazon). Was very happy after getting the 3.75L limit. Used it very efficiently ensuring to keep my utilisation below 5%. Then after 4 month's credit history, applied for SBI and got it yesterday.

TIP: If you want to start your CC journey, starting with Slice can work for you too(All I was getting were fd approved cards which I didn't want).

Two questions:

  1. Why does Amazon keep rejecting my application for Amazon Pay ICICI?

  2. What do you think should be my next CCs or are these 2 enough?

  • Salary: 1.1L pm
  • CIBIL 760 (Might increase this month)
  • Spend: 10-20k per month in food grocery etc
  • Rent: 20k pm
  • Travel Expenses: ~2000 pm
  • Investments: ~20-30k
  • National travel - Thrice a year ~6-7k ticket one way

After discount I got it for 23084₹ or 230.84/gm (1034₹ CC Discount).

Last purchase was at 256/gm on 16 June.

If it fall more, I will buy more. Where do you think is silver heading?

What's wrong with MBD Subreddit?

I posted an interesting question which is very much required in these times for Moradabad. Ques: Can we still call MBD as Peetal-Nagri?

Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Moradabad/s/FHyjQXYE9B

People do not understand the importance of manufacturing. I wanted to start a conversation around how a person's grandfather transitioned from Brass to Aluminium and avoided getting bankrupt during sudden brass demand decline in 2002-2008 crisis.

As it was expected, nobody wants to talk real problems here. The only response that I received was "There's historical significance to the name so you shouldn't change it".

I already know that!! I am not Yogiji trying to rename cities. I am trying to understand what can be done if another financial crisis hits.

If this is the quality of responses I am going to get then I better not put efforts into writing here at all.

IS THERE ANYONE for a meaningful community interaction or are people here just to get a girl or to discuss smoking? Disappointing...

EDIT: Applogies if the questions felt aggresive. I realised people should get the freedom to talk about whatever they wish and I cannot decide that for anyone. I am happy people interacted and gave genuine answers with some of them also giving good insights of the industry.

I need a CC after Slice

Hi everyone.

I have a Slice CC since 3-4 months (3.75L limit).

I am planning to apply for another CC with good cashback and offers.

I buy silver and gold online frequently so need something specific for Flipkart, Ajio, Myntra, Amazon.

Which card should I apply and the level of difficulty for each.

I applied for Amazon Pay ICICI and they rejected my application. Didn't apply for any since then.

Salary: 1.1L, CIBIL: 759

Can we still call MBD "Peetal-Nagri"?

Hi everyone.

This thought has been lingering in my mind for long. Since there's so much going on in world economics and supply chain, how are manufacturers in Moradabad doing?

How is your peetal/brass work? How was it 10 years ago when your father/grandfather used to do it.

Can we call MBD as "Peetal-Nagri" or have we transitioned to other metals like Aluminium, Copper, Iron?

My father is an Aluminium manufacturer and I feel that majority of the manufacturing is done around aluminium (maybe copper for water bottles but that's it). The demand for Brass and Iron has drastically dropped.

What do you think?

Best Jeweller to Buy Gold for Marriage in Moradabad

Hi everyone. My marriage is around the corner and I want to know the best jeweller out there with logical making charges.

I have tried:

• Tanishq (Kanth Road) - Very high making charges

• Kalyan (Civil Lines) - Don't like their services

Are there any local jewellers you buy gold from?

Also, I am a frequent silver stacker. Any specific place for silver bar/coin accumulation.

Priority for now is gold first and then silver stacking.

Am I the only one who never questioned why keyboards, pen caps, or manhole covers look the way they do?

I've been working as a UX/UI designer for the past couple of years, and recently I found myself noticing some product designs closely.

Not the DYSON kinda products we usually talk about in design circles.

The everyday stuff like: QWERTY keyboard. Pressure cooker whistles. Pen cap holes. Even manhole covers.

The more I look at them, the more I realize that somebody, somewhere, made a design decision that billions of us now follow without thinking.

A keyboard layout designed to slow typewriters. A cooker whistle that is now a cooking language in India. A circular cover that can never fall into its own hole.

Here's the article I wrote after researching from multiple spaces: https://emoris.com/9-product-design-examples-one-person-decided-for-billions/

So, I wanted to ask this question from you guys too:

What's an everyday product you never questioned and realised how beautifully it's done to a point that it feels almost invisible

EDIT: Thank-you so much guys for the response. So many interesting examples scissors, Japanese manholes, reference of interesting podcasts and archives. Learnt a lot from these mentions.

Where can I sell a niche Instagram page with 17k genuine followers?

I started an Instagram page and posted content on graphic design initially then moved to all kinds of design like ux, fashion, product, visual communication.

It was started from absolute 0 with no intention to go big but just genuinely helping people learn design. I posted around ~70 posts and reached 17k followers.

I don't play that game anymore as posts don't attract too many people. The instagram game has changed and I don't know what to post in the form of reels.

Nothing is being posted there for 6-7 months now and I am not sure what to do with it or just sell it off to someone who can do something about it.

Any ideas?

Update: Reordered and got 100gm BRPL for 246₹/gm

In an earlier thread I ordered the same 100gm for 265.6₹/gm(before the fall). On the same day, the market fell and I cancelled it but promised to buy silver at a better price.

Here I am, got this beauty at ₹24,618.

But wait, doesn't the bill say ₹25,6267 or 256₹/gm?

Here's how I did it. I got a flipkart voucher from Cred(suggested by a fellow redditor) which gave me 10k at 9.8k, took 2 of them equals a saving of 400₹ directly and also a 1% back via Slice CC on 1% of (9800x2)

On top of that, I paid the rest of the ~5k using Slice CC and got 1% back.

So the savings are: 200(9.8k FK boucher) + 200(9.8k FK voucher) + 196(1% on 9.8kx2 Slice CC) + ~55₹(Rest of the amount paid using Slice CC).

TOTAL SAVINGS = ~651₹ savings making the effective price ₹24618 or 24.618₹/gm

I will continue buying on every fall because I believe that silver/gold is the real money of the future and not paper currencies which depends upon the frequency of printing by the govts.

EDIT: Not cancelling the order again even after the market fell more. I think the price I got is still good and I will stick to it unless silver goes berserk and reaches 220/gm

I invest 3k monthly to write articles on design.

On 6th August 2025, I bid in an auction and invested 50k just to buy the domain name: emoris.com.

Since then I have been writing articles whenever I get time and post. Btw, I work full time as a UX/UI Designer at BP and doing well in life, honestly there's no need for me to do this. But I just want to contribute as I love design.

There are 13 articles on the website till now and I started it because I got tired of AI gibberish articles and nothing new. I write on observations, emotions, connection with real world examples.

If you can give feedback on how can I improve, or what are some of the topics that nobody talks about in design. I'll write on them.

EDIT: The website has only 13 articles yet it gets ~10k impressions per month and atleast 150 readers.

The instagram page also has 17k followers but it's almost dead as the new age is all about reels and instamt dopamine so I don't post there anymore.
