A T5 ship gets you 25 tokens whereas a T10 gets you 125, 5x the tokens. However, a T5 ship costs 1/17th what a T10 costs you, not even considering all the rest of the silver to get up to T10. I’m thinking most silver efficient approach here is to start from the bottom rather than the top if you’re looking to maximize tokens if your silver is more scarce than your port slots. If you only have a handful of slots remaining you can always buy and sell the lower tier ships far more efficiently than saving up for the T10s.

Forgive me if this was obvious to everyone else, but hope this helps others in my situation.

These personal challenge events are some of my favorite things WG puts on. It’s so easy to just default to my favorite couple ships, take the game too seriously, and have at best an okay time. Being incentivized to play different ships that are languishing in my port has definitely upped my enjoyment.

The low bar for the first reward is great. I can jump into a ship I’m not familiar with, get a feel for it, and as long as I hit 500xp it wasn’t a waste of time. If I enjoy the ship, I can keep going for the 1000, 1500, or 1800 bar, or if not just move on. I love the 200% bonus xp events for the same reason; move your commander to a premium you rarely use and if you win you boosted the cxp quite a bit.
