I've just had full reconstructive surgery on my ACL.
I have a universal credit appointment this week, but I live very rural and am struggling for a lift there.
My main question is,
How can I maximise my benefits income?
Is there any other benefits I can apply for?
How can I maximise my income?
I'll be getting SSP which is obviously nowhere near enough.

I've just had ACL reconstruction and I'm signed off until November.
I work a very physical job which means there isn't office work/ light duties available.
I will get SSP. But it won't cover my rent, bills and everything else.
My question is how can I maximise my income for the next 3 months?
I've applied for universal credit but can't actually get to the appointment as I can't drive/walk .
What else could I sign up for?
Is there any other incomes?
Charities?
Anything at all.

Hi I was told over the phone a decision has been made regarding my PIP, and told to wait for a letter.
I've phoned the number and done the usual options and I'm not being told an amount.
I assume I've been unsuccessful in my claim?
Or shall I wait for the letter then I'll know?
Unsure why they couldn't tell me on the phone, it's been over a week since a decision was made.
Just received a letter from CWU stating only new entrants after the first of June will be on 37 hour contracts.
Does this mean that those of us who are on 30 hour contracts won't receive any additional hours...?
