Average International imports
We've had a few in the 30 years ive been watching the game. The obvious ones for me were Michael Bent and Matt Mostyn.
Who else springs to mind when you think of Irish internationals with a Southern Hemisphere accent?

Before my time but I know what a legendary player he was for NZ.
I heard when he came to Munster he was pretty much on the wain due to injuries and was unfortunately not a good signing.
Was there any highlight of his time here or was it all just .... i dont know....bad?
Was getting diesel today, I nearly saw a cyclist getting killed. Keep an eye on the left.
The driver pulled in next to me at next pump and I said it to him that it was a close one. He said what? I said it was a close one. He said he wasnt concentrating.
I said at least one of ye was (the cyclist)
It looked great tonight on the tele. (apart from the wee pitch invaders)
Been watching tons of old school rugby the last few weeks. Marshall/Mehrtens seemed like they had great chemistry. Even when Justin threw a wobbler, Andrew dealt with it.
Any other classic scrum half/outhalf pairings I'm missing out on?
He's probably the best NZ no8 ive seen in my years watching rugby and I heard that he played a bit of GAA (Gaelic football) in his youth and he credits a lot his handling and kicking skills to playing it when he was a kid.
I didn't know that there were actual GAA clubs down your neck of the woods. Is that a true story, or is it some fable us irish like to tell ourselves to boost the importance of our native games?
Apart from the lads who went off to Oz, do you know of any young all rounders who went off to play other sports like soccer or rugby and could have had successful hurling or football careers?
I've been watching lots of old international rugby matches from back in the day. A few in particular where home fans (not mind the opposition) were booing and jeering Montgomery and even the commentators were having digs at him.
If you're old enough and remember him playing, why was he such a divisive player?
You know that thing where you call something that's kind of crap and not as good as the original. Say for example a half decent, but not a great footballer might be called a "temu" version of Messi?
I remember back in the 80s/90s we'd just say Yellowpack or KVI in the same way.
Reef were a yellowpack Nirvana and Menswear were a KVI Oasis.
This was seriously dangerous as there is a bus stop right at this spot and there's usually a few people waiting on the side of the road too.
Flower of Scotland is a banger and is noted all around the world as one of the great National Anthems. Turns out it's not an old song by anthem standards.
Ireland's Call, in my opinion is an embarrassing dirge. Could we have done better? A song that could have made both the North and the South happy?
Which rugby union players would make your all time XV of "dirty" players? Not all mine would be considered dirty maybe one would have been a master of getting away with cheating. You'll probably guess that one. One is from a time before I got into rugby but his reputation precedes him.
Anyway, what's yours?
