Sealing poly midsole to prevent cracks and water ingress?
I'm pretty against the poly midsole. The only poly pair that I've got has vertical cracks in the midsole at the primary bend (ball of the foot). And the water ingress from just walking through dew is ridiculous. BUT, I never did any sort of treatment to the poly to prevent the cracking or the water wicking. Ive even noted that an additional poly pair would need to be HEAVILY discounted for me to even consider it.
Well, a nearly unworn (zero wear in the soles and no creases) pair in my size and preferred leather popped up on eBay and I ended up with them for 40% of current retail price. In short, enough of a steal to push me over the edge to buy another poly pair. And they're en route.
Those of you that have treated the poly for longevity? And/or to prevent the capillary-action, what have you used on the visible edges? And did it work? And what do you recommend or recommend against for treating the edges of the poly midsole?
Thanks in advance.
