Superboy identity rant

I just need to get this off my chest as a Kon-el superboy fan and who better to complain to than a bunch of reddit strangers?

I hate that they made superboy Jon-el in the show. I don't mind Jon-el, but I do very much mind that that took almost everything about Kon and slapped Johnathan's name on it.

They stole everything from Kon style wise. I will say, I have not actually read much for comics about Jon, and am not up to date on some things, so my only resource was whatever showed up in google images.

Besides the obvious jacket, hair, and glasses (that I think only showed up in those first look sketches)...

Does MAWS Superboy have red across his shoulders or arms like I see in almost all his designs when I google Jon? no.

instead, he stole Kon's cunty v shaped red pants. most of time it looks like Jon doesn't even have separate pants in his costume.

Does jon wear red gloves? no. Kon does.

Does jon's costume go up his neck? Not usually, but kon's does.

the only things I see that match any of jons costumes is the darker stripes under his arms, and the boxier shape of the red pants does seem to show up in one of jon's designs, but they're still not red.

And also. "Slammin'"? Excuse me? That's like throwing salt in the wound. That's 90s slang. That's something Kon says in the comics, and also specifically in the reign of supermen dcamu movie.
(Excuse how ridiculous the example image of this is.)

And also in that episode, the scene when he puts on the jacket and is like "this doesn't really feel like Jon kent" "...but it does feel like superboy!" BECAUSE YEAH, IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE JON BUT SURE DOES FEEL LIKE ANOTHER SUPERBOY I KNOW OF!

I get why they used Jon storyline wise. Lois is freaking out about the future. Of course their son makes more sense.

But they could've just actually made it Jon, and not made it 90% Kon and slap on Jon's name and story.

And if they wanted Kon, they still could've made Lois freak out about parenthood by just having Kon lie about being a clone. Why would he want to tell them he's a clone of Lex if he's trying to get them to trust him. It would make sense for him to tell a little white like about being their son to get them to not question it. They could even still give him the same crisis about not having parents to grow up with (which Kon does actually show being something he knew he missed out on and wished he had in the comics).

Anyways. Thanks for reading.

Vintage (but probably older) linen nightgown (oc)

My family bought a house in Italy two years ago that had been abandoned for at least twenty years before that, and were blessed with literal chests full of high quality linen, and a few linen garments like this one. As I'm getting more into historical costume making it is becoming such a blessing.

Just for facts about the house: The oldest part of the house is from the 12th century with many changes and additions over the years, and were pretty sure the most recent owners had lives there since before ww2, as there were letters in desks from around that time.

And about the actual garment: I'm pretty sure it's completely hand stitched (despite the house coming with a treadle sewing machine), and it's made of very nice heavy linen. Like the title says, I can't really guarantee how old this garment is either than before 2003, but I feel like it is probably at least a few decades(?) older. I kind of doubt it can be dated from just how it looks because it's such a basic design.

Something I found interesting was that only one side has the gores, while the other is just one regular seam. I'm not sure why this is, I just thought it was so interesting.

If anyone can give more insight about this by just seeing photos of it, please share your knowledge! I love learning anything I can about the house and the stuff in it.

Are these pants possible?

I'm hoping to make a comic accurate superboy costume, but the only thing is... his pants have a v shape on both sides. Is this even possible? Does anyone have any ideas on what I could use to hold the waist shape? I figure the belts would do some of the heavy lifting.

My current plan is to use polyester scuba fabric, but I haven't bought the actual fabric yet (only some in the wrong colour to test with bc it was on clearance) so that could change if need be.

Also if anyone has any ideas on how I should go about actually making the superman S, that would be appreciated as well.

Going around people turning left...

I see so many people going around people waiting to turn left, using the right lane.

This is illegal, right? It feels very dangerous, and means the people waiting to turn left have to wait even longer because even when two left turners meet, they have to watch the new second lane people have decided exists now.

Just very frustrated because I got closer than I'd like to being hit by someone doing this today.

Found sunglasses nearish to the national theatre

We saw these sunglasses fall out of the pocket of a biker nearish to Karl Johans gate/Nationaltheatret earlier today. A member of our party tried to catch up on a scooter to no success, so I figured I'd post them here just in case the owner might see. They seem like they might be prescription. If no one claims them, we'll just turn them into the police on the 17th when we're back in oslo.
