David is getting tired
I’ve said countless times, including in this very subreddit, that there would come a time when David would get tired of hearing Christine recount life with Kody.
And it looks like he is there.

So, Meri was the photographer documenting the family moments.
I have always felt (and stated) that Meri was the most committed to the family.
She wanted that family more than any of them.
And for me, this is even more proof.
The others didn’t care about family photos, and even started complaining, apparently, that they didn’t want to take them.
But Meri was the one wanting to take the photos and document their family for posterity.
Has anyone else ever wondered why the producers and writers never gave us a wedding episodes of The Cosby Show?
Sandra and Elvin:
We got to see Sandra and Elvin getting engaged, and even got to see them returning from their honeymoon and the angst they caused when they returned and announced they no longer planned to go to law and medical school. But there was never a wedding episode that showed them walking down the aisle.
Denise and Martin:
Of course, we never got a wedding episode from them. There was the sweet episode where Cliff and Martin had their ‘bonding’ day and Cliff explained to Martin how he gave Sandra away to Elvin and missed that opportunity with Denise. And they did kind of re-create the wedding in their living room. But of course, it wasn’t the same as an actual wedding episode.
Claire’s Sister:
We even saw Claire’s sister getting engaged, and the debate of whether their dad would sing at the wedding. But we never saw them actually get married.
Vanessa and Dabnis:
They ended their engagement.
I’ve just always wondered why we were never blessed with a special wedding episode.
Blinging out my purse with Golden Girls key chains/bag charms.
In addition to Ms. Dorothy’s backpack keychain, on the left hand side of my purse is a key chain that says “Live like Rose, Dress like Blanche, Think Like Dorothy, Speak Like Sophia.”
This was such a powerful episode of A Different World.
Every time this episode is on, I get goosebumps listening to Rev. Jackson address the students.
One of the things I’ve always loved about this show is how the producers and writers (and the cast too!) were not afraid to tackle the issues of the day.
Bows head in shame. I really do need to do better with my sleep patterns.
But I just couldn’t help and chuckle over this notification and Google Health calling me out on my “messy sleep schedule.”
Congratulations to Chris McNally and Julia Gonzalo on the birth of their new daughter.
Side note: I adored Chris McNally in Sailing Into Love with Leah Renee. It’s one of my favorite Hallmark movies.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about Whoopi’s constant “this is on us” refrain.
I think one of the main problems is that I hardly ever hear her unpack it and truly explain what she means.
Honestly, I see where she’s going (at least where I believe she’s going) with it. But she needs to unpack it and explain.
For example, she could say “This is on us because too many voters keep sending the same people back to Congress.” She could then have a larger conversation of the importance of not just continuing to send the same people back to Congress every two (House) or six (Senate) years.
She could even talk about the reaching out to your elected representatives and making clear where you stand on a particular issue and how you’d like them to vote.
In other words, she’d be making the case for becoming more engaged, knowledgeable voters.
She could truly use her constant “this is on us” refrain to really have a larger conversation about participatory citizenship.
And that’s where she’s missing the mark.
I know there’s been a lot of talk on this subreddit about Whoopi: her lack of preparedness to discuss the topics, her generalizations and constant “this is on us.”
The truth is that I’ve always given Whoopi the side-eye.
I especially became leery of her when she defended Ted Danson’s performing in blackface at an event honoring Whoopi, and excusing it as ‘this is what happens at these events’ (paraphrasing but that was the basic gist of her defense of Danson).
Also, Whoopi just doesn’t seem engaged or interested in many of the topics discussed at the table.
I think back to the early days of The View and how Meredith Vieira led the panel of women.
Meredith always seemed vibrant, engaged and interested in dialoging with her fellow co-hosts.
That’s exactly what Whoopi is lacking, and more.
I love this Golden Girls RP Mini book.
It’s a miniature GG book with great photos and quotes, etc. from the show.
My latest Golden Girls merchandise that I brought:
- A talking button that you press and hear one of the timeless quotes from the show!
