Ciao!
Slide It In, Whitesnake, & Slip of the Tongue are getting reissues in September
It’s official! Craft Recordings are reissuing the Whitesnake’s catalogue in physical formats—restored in its original formats, original artwork, maybe remasters.
The vinyls are configured in its black and colour pressings
Current Vinyl configurations are out on September 18th, CD releases are TBA.
If you are wondering what type of mix “Slide It In” is catalogued, this is the US Remix (Not the Original UK Mix version, sorry). The 1987 album features the original Geffen USA track listing, but feels incomplete without the two tracks in the European Version.
On June 23rd, yesterday was the day Whitesnake performed their final performance live at 2022 Hellfest Festival
The ending with Steve Vai is a magnificent way to end the show, always “Still of the Night“, but it all came down to the end of Whitesnake’s touring activities where David would cease touring dates for a couple of years bedridden by health issues. A sad farewell to the group after 40+ years of touring as Whitesnake, and it is their last performance before David retired amicably.
1978 — June 23, 2022 (their final time being a group together)❤️

Adrian addresses if David Coverdale would join his 50th Anniversary show. Here what he's had to say
The question in circulation:>!Is it fair to say that you’re still talking to David Coverdale? I mean on a regular basis or semi-regular. And would David be one of those special guests on your 50th Anniversary shows?!<
In Adrian's words: >!"Yeah we talk. But I don’t think so. No. No. It doesn’t look like it. David really completely retired from the music business. As people know. Which is why it’s even a better thing for me to play those Whitesnake songs to keep everything alive."!<
This week's rotation
I favour the oldies metal stuff, but occasionally somewhere outside the category. What do you think? Any recommendations?

All of the Whitesnake's catalogue through RHINO have been sold out and have no plans of restocking them.
Rhino has just sold out of all of the Whitesnake's reissue catalogue and they have no plans of restocking them. Hopefully, a new distributor or Craft Recordings, as far as I'm aware of the current distributor, would reissue them somehow.
However, its Rhino UK counterpart has "The Best of Whitesnake" and "Unzipped" in stock as far as I can see. (Link will redirect you to the US store. Go up to the top right until you see a country where they take EUR £)
Fun Fact: After the Deep Purple demise, David Coverdale had once rehearsed with Uriah Heep
Courtesy of Deep Purple:
50 years ago this week. Things weren't what it seems, or what we have told.
David Coverdale: "I finished in March, and talking to you now is like reliving it a bit, and I don't want to relive the feelings of those shows: my tears in Glasgow and Liverpool when I was crying on roadies' shoulders. And when Ian Paice comes up and asks me on the strength of our friendship to go back on... I just wanted to find a hole and dive in it." (New Musical Express UK)
As July 1976 approached, David rehearsed with Uriah Heep. During that time, the group had dismissed their vocalist, John Wetton and wanted someone to fit the job. David did auditioned for them in London and got together very well, even an extended jam session. According to guitarist Mick Box, the two sides got along very well and the jam was highly energetic. He did eventually turned down an invitation to join Uriah Heep, unfortunately, because he was in a process of putting together a new group.
David also declined an invitation to join Jon and Ian's new band, but he instead securing limited funding from Purple's management to record a solo album.
This is something new on David! Thoughts?
"Walking in the Shadow of the Blues: The Whitesnake Story" biography is back in stock on 18 June.
You can order online here.
This is the first full biography for the band that was published in September 2025. I think it was sold out at that guidance, but they are currently restocking it. This might be something for huge collectors of Whitesnake other than the "Sail Away: Whitesnake Fantastic Voyage" publication.
In celebration of Vai's birthday, Purplesnake has made this montage featuring the Vai Voltage Mix of “Fool for Your Loving”

blabbermouth.netNew Single from John Sykes — Out on June 12th
The title is “Believe In Yourself” and it is out on digital platforms on June 12th.
Believe in Yourself captures everything fans have long admired about Sykes’ artistry – soaring vocals, electrifying guitar work, and a deeply personal lyrical message delivered with passion and conviction. The single stands as both a triumphant celebration of his enduring creative spirit and a heartfelt farewell to a musician whose influence shaped generations of rock and metal artists and continues to do so. A second single from his posthumous EP from the former Whitesnake guitarist!
A secret easter bunny cameo I’ve found 😃
David singing something about Mark & Brian! Cute!
