First meeting with advisor advice?

I will be having my first meeting with my PhD advisor next week and was wondering if anyone had any questions that they recommend asking? We’ve only met once for my interview and it was fairly brief due to time constraints (20 minutes).

For those who pursued neuroergonomics in grad school, what careers did it lead to and what sort of research are you working on?

I have the chance to pursue neuroergonomics research during my PhD and am very interested in the field. What type of research did you do during grad school and what kinds of jobs did it lead to in research or industry? Ideally in the USA but am open to hearing from those in other countries as well!

When did you feel like you could call yourself a scientist?

For fellow STEM phds and PhD students when did you finally feel like you could refer to yourself as a scientist? Was it after your PhD? After undergrad? During undergrad? After your first publication? Etc. I am curious to see people’s viewpoints on this.

What do you want from a TA?

Hi everyone, I’ll be starting at GMU as a grad student in the Fall and I’m going to be a TA. I constantly see complaints on here about TAs so I wanted to see what makes a good TA in your eyes?
What are things a TA has done that made your experience better? What are things you've seen TAs do that weren't helpful?

I know it can vary a lot by class and department but I'd love to hear your experiences so I can be the kind of TA you'd actually want to have. Thanks!

Have a question about scoring SSQ totals

In the literature I have found breaking down the scoring, to obtain the total score it shows using the equation ([1]+[2]+[3)*3.74 with the [1], [2] and [3] being the category totals for N, O and D. What I’m confused about is that I’m seeing mixed responses that when calculating the total score whether you should include the symptoms repeated across [1], [2] and [3] to calculate it or just basically calculate the sum of the raw 16 symptom scores. Based on the equation and chart I assumed the former where you include the repeated values multiple times but I’m seeing things that state otherwise and it’s a bit confusing. Anyone ever use this survey before that can give some insight?
