Are you a fan of Chinese cuisine?
I’ve been living in Australia for almost 2 years now, working at a restaurant connected to the Hyatt/Grand Hotel building. Today during my shift, I was doing regular cleaning before opening hours.
The restaurant wasn’t open yet, and I had specifically been told not to allow anyone to use the restroom before opening. At that moment, the door was open because a delivery guy was bringing goods in.
While I was cleaning one washroom, this Aussie guy walked in and used the other one. He stayed there for around 5–10 minutes. What annoyed me was that he never asked. If he had just politely asked me first, I honestly probably would’ve made an exception because I understand emergencies happen.
When he came out, I raised my voice and told him the restaurant wasn’t open. He got annoyed too and said, “Why tf did you open the door then?” I told him it was for deliveries, not customers, and we argued for a couple of minutes.
But after he left, I just felt ashamed.
He honestly seemed like a decent guy, probably a hotel guest carrying a suitcase, and I think I dumped a lot of my own frustration onto him. I’ve been going through a rough breakup lately, haven’t spoken to my girlfriend back in Nepal for over a month, and I’ve been dealing with loneliness, homesickness, work stress, and career anxiety all at once.
At the same time, part of me also feels frustrated because I was only trying to follow instructions from work, and he didn’t really communicate with me either.
Still, I don’t feel good about how I handled it. Been thinking about it the whole day.
Hey guys, I’m new here in Australia and I recently lost my retainer 😭
I’m looking to get a new one made, but I’m on a tight budget right now—ideally around $300–$400 if possible.
I don’t have a sample or impression with me, so I’d need to get everything done from scratch.
I’m based in Melbourne, so anywhere nearby would be great, but I’m also open to places anywhere in Australia if they can sort it out properly.
If anyone has suggestions, affordable clinics, or has gone through this before, I’d really appreciate your help!
