Potentially seized engine? Let me know what you think. Full details in post bellow

This is my friend's 2016 130 GTI SE with just shy of 80 hours. I was not there when it quit but the story I got is that he jumped a wave and the engine shut off instantly upon landing, never to start again. There were no prior warnings on the dash, no lights, no beeping, nothing. It was towed to the nearest marina and they never exceeded 15kmh. The first thing I found when looking at it is a negative battery terminal so loose that it was about to fall off. I thought for sure that was the issue but no, the starter engages but the engine does not spin at all. I checked the intake for something jamming the impeller but it is completely free of obstructions or debris. Battery voltage is at 12.8v. I connected a jumper pack to keep the voltage up yet the starter pulls so much juice that the ski entirely shuts off after 2-3 seconds of pressing the starter button. I pulled the sparkplugs and found the plug of cylinder #2 to be stripped and impossible to get out. I know it was not this way before as I am the one that winterized this ski last year. At this point, I am very much fearing a catastrophic failure of cylinder #2. Is there a spot on this engine that allows us to either put a socket or a wrench to try and spin the engine by hand? This would be my next step before looking into pulling the head off. What do you guys think of this? Thanks

Tow valve question - Is there one of these two hoses that's favorable for a tow tap install?

I have seen people install their tow valve in either spots. Is there one that is better or worst than the other? Is is simply a matter of preferences? Thanks!

First time picking up a racket in 17 years, I feel like I'm starting from zero!

I used to play every Saturday mornings when I was a teen. I have been wanting to get back at it for a while now so I picked up a used Head Instinct MP off of facebook market place. I've hit a few forehands and backhands on a wall this afternoon and here's how it went. Let me know what you think, any pointers welcome!

Dell XPS 9370 absolutely WILL NOT boot into safe mode.

My XPS 13 9370 took a massive dump following a windows 11 update today. It has been stuck on the "working on updates - 100%" black screen from 8AM this morning up until right now. I force restarted it multiple times trying to get it into safe mode and it absolutely will not do it. It is still stuck on the update screen with seemingly nothing to do about it.

No matter the sequence I try or how many times I restart it, it does not want to go into safe mode. I tried adding a 10 second delay to the boot splash screen and it did not help. I don't have the means to reinstall windows at the moment and Id rather not loose the content of the computer.

I am out of ideas... Any help is welcome, thanks.

Good afternoon! I am trying to solve a problem for a customer. We want to install a PTZ camera in a rock quarry. Being that the whole place is essentially built on a huge rock, we can't trench conduits on long distances without resorting to explosives and rock drills which brings the costs exponentially. Aerial wires are impossible due to large mining trucks driving around on site.

We would like to run the camera and it's P2P antenna off of solar. I estimate the electrical load of the camera + the antenna to be no more than 15 watts during the day and up to 25 watts at night.

Here's the catch, were in Canada and we have short, cold days with low sun during winter. I have found these batteries that claim to charge all the way down to -20c which we do get on occasions. They claim to discharge all the way down to -30c. I plan on installing the batteries and associated equipment in an insulated metal enclosure at the base of the pole. Does anybody have experience with low temps LiFePo batteries? How do they differ from standard LiFePo batteries?

I made the customer aware that they would have to be proactive about this setup and remove the snow from the panels frequently/daily if they want the system to keep operating. Online calculators give me a runtime estimate of 10 days at a 20 watts average load with four 100ah batteries or 400ah worth total.

Does 400 watts worth of solar panels seems realistic to maintin such system? The customer's welder will fabricate a rack to install and orient the panels to the south. Does this project as a whole makes sense? Am I under estimating the battery capacity? Any pointers appreciated, this is my first time tackling a project like this. Thanks!

A couple of weeks ago, my neighbor gave me a headsup that he borrowed an Airthings Corentium meter and that he's getting high readings in his basement. This got me curious so I purchased the same one on amazon. I've had it running for about 14 days now and it is barely registering anything.

My neighbor is getting results in the 500-600 range, very high. The highest I've seen on mine is 19. Now were both wondering who's meter is wrong. Were living in a duplex, our house share the same foundation. The house has a fireproof wall splitting it in the middle and our halfs of the house are mirror copies.

My meter is installed 4ft off the ground in the hallway in the basement. There is no window, vent, direct sunlight, anything hitting the meter. His is at roughly the same place. Literally 10ft from mine but on the other side of the wall.

What do you all think of this situation? Is there something that can be done to test these meters? Anything that could allow us to figure out if one is faulty? Thanks
