Giant dog beds

Giant dog beds

We are downsizing and have 4 memory foam dog beds to donate. Two of them are huge roughly 5'x3.5'with bolster sides and the other two are 4'x3' (one is not in the picture). All are about 4" thick.

Does any one know where I can donate them? The giant ones are used less than 1 year. All are great quality and supportive especially for senior dogs.

Happy to give it to anyone who's interested. We are close to downtown Vancouver.

Boox Tab XC and Styluses

I want to give a review on two additional styluses that work for the Tab XC.

The original Boox worked well. Based on my previous healing shield experience, I was expecting the nib to wear down. (Unfortunately, the healing shield came as super glassy and not matte at all.) Anyway, I ended up getting the Made for Amazon stylus that uses a battery. Then I found Penoval stylus that can be charged with usb-c which is much better than Boox or the disposable battery. Penoval also has metal nibs option.

All three work well on Tab XC. I feel no noticable latency. All three write well.
One thing I don't usually see when people testing the stylus is writing small. Most would include big curvy strokes. So I tried to show how well all three can write small. Of course, it's a bit extreme but for your reference.

What's this pale green fat zucchini-ish vegetable?

Vancouver WA.

It was self seeded probably by a bird. When we first saw it, I thought it was zucchini. But the color stayed pretty pale. I took pictures but kept forgetting about it after walks. Today it's almost like a watermelon size. What is it?

Xianxa and historical novels by the author of Don't pick up boyfriend from the trash bin

I couldn't finish Don't pick up boyfriend from the trash bin when I read it a couple years ago. But recently I found the two novels by the same author and fell in love with both books and characters. I read it in Chinese so don't know whether the translation for either is good or bad.

The two novels are "After My Fall as a Treacherous Minister, I Started Over" and "The Villain is Outrageously Beautiful". Both have excellent plot and twist, sweet and strong characters. Highly recommend!

Evil As Humans

I finished reading Evil As Humans in Chinese and really enjoyed the development of the characters and how the author design the world. I don't know how good the translation is but it has good rating on Novel updates.

Furigana plugin for Calibre

I am a native Chinese speaker so I'm facing different challenges in studying Japanese. I tend to verbalize in my head when I read. One particular challenge for me is that I might know how to pronounce the kanji in Chinese but not in Japanese. With all the AI tools available, I decided to make my own plugin for Calibre since that's where I manage all my ebooks.

The plugin gives you option to add furigana to the japanese epub. You can add or remove the selected levels based on your need. There is a switcher where you can change the view to publisher furigana, with added furigana, or without furigana. It supports the native Calibre viewer and viewing on browsers via content server. If you export the epub out to another reader, the added furigana will be displayed in blue.

There are also an additional function to convert the text direct from vertical to horizontal or vice versa. This is not limited to Japanese but there might be some formatting issues if it's used for Chinese or Korean text.

The plugin was tested on MacOS and iOS. I don't know if it'll work properly with windows or android system.

The installation should be straightforward. Download the zip file from GitHub and load it from local file in Calibre's plugin modal. Feel free to give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

I just updated to the latest stock firmware and can't find the previous wifi connection to drop books. Is it only possible to transfer files through the companion app now? I have the transparent case that covers the SD card so I was transferring my book through the wifi connection when I finish a book.

In case you are wondering, I'm still using the stock firmware due to the support for Chinese and Japanese.
