ChatGPT Pro x5 a USD $122 por IVA - consulta

Hola!

x5 = 100 USD

x20 = 200 USD

Gracias

I don't like to whine, but just this time

THE 5 HOURS LIMIT SUCKS

I already have enough bullshit in my life to be attentive of to have to track when the overlords will unlock the thing I'm paying for in 5 hours time so that I can keep working.

At least let users opt out, make the option hard to find, whatever. Allow me to pay 30 for weekly usage! I'll do it.

It fucking sucks. "Oh no sir, you have to wait until 4:47 pm to finish the thing, you pleb."

I KNOW I'M DRAINING MY WEEKLY USAGE, who gives a fuck, resets happen here and there.

Varus, give me back my weekly codex!

Choose just one

And tell me why please - *Yes, every potion would upgrade your body or mind with the skills to be able to do such thing. Example: instruments = perfect pitch, tempo, being able to read music, full dexterity and speed, separate limb control and so on.

For 2 - you can speak AND write and read any language

Alternative take: All these resets are because they know token limits are on the floor right now

Tibo, by the grand love of his heart, continuously sheds resets for the peasants, because they are celebrating the millions of other peasants joining their ranks. That's the official story.

However, to anyone that has been paying attention it is obvious that since the 5 hours limit has been taken away, which initially a great thing, and since 5.6 has come out, token limits are completely nerfed, to the point that some of you have created tools to accurately measure this, and have found it to be absolutely true instead of just "feels".

I believe that 5.6 overengineering issues, constant testing and full suite rambling at the end of each run, unless prompted not to that is, and some other matters including an actual downgrade of token usage coming from OpenAI, has led them to give this barrage of resets so that we don't just jump ship to Claude or K3. Claude, ironically know for crap limits, now has decent ones and Opus 5 is quite good at efficiency, which hurts Codex even more.

That is my theory for the day. If my theory is true, OpenAI will be looking for ways to fix the token spending of 5.6, and the nerfing of limits, probably linked to limited compute on their end after millions joined ChatGPT work these weeks.

That's my TED Talk.

What software can you recommend that changed your daily workflow forever?

I will ignore AI chatbots in this post because of course I use it everyday and would be number one if not excluded, but if you have any particular AIs you know of, it's welcome here.

--

I consider myself a power user, been using PC, Windows, since I was 8 and that's what I work with and have worked with forever. I'm no software master at all but I do know my way around it.

I have an e-marketing agency with a business partner and two pieces of software are an absolute must for me. Those are:

1. Vivaldi browser: Extremely power user focused, high customization. Best feature for my use case is Workspaces, basically you can save a set of tabs under different names. Ideal when working for different companies to avoid having to look for stuff again. It's there, all the time, just change workspaces.

2. Ditto: A clipboard manager, very simple and elegant. It saves up to 500 clipboard texts and images, I set it to Ctrl+D and it spawns on my cursor. It has saved me months of time I guess, started using it in 2014.

So, what's your life changing software? It doesn't have to interest for what I do in particular, I'm interested to hear from all walks of life.

Edit: I have absolutely no affiliation either to Vivaldi or Ditto, I guess posts like these can come out as ads but no, they're truly useful software

Somos unos monos pegando. Pegamos constantemente. Falta tras falta.

Entró al medio tiempo Brasil Noruega recién. 2 faltas en 45 minutos. O 3.

Water usage for AI Datacenters "largely solved"

"At its Build Conference earlier this month, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella touted a cooling system that circulates water in a closed loop, reducing a year’s worth of water usage down to roughly equivalent to a single restaurant’s. Google was quick to follow suit, outlining new initiatives and community-focused projects proposing to replenish the water it uses.

Nvidia’s latest announcement goes a step further, proposing to greatly reduce the immense amounts of water (300,000 gallons per day for a mid-size facility) guzzled by data centers to keep their systems cool. In a press release, the chip giant described a coolant for its AI system that is “warmer than a hot tub,” with the potential to eliminate water use altogether.

The coolant, a mixture of water and propylene glycol, can run as hot as 113 degrees Fahrenheit, pulling heat from processors as it flows through cold plates mounted on them. This reduces the need for chilling equipment while improving efficiency. With cooling accounting for 40 percent of electricity-use in data centers, optimizing the process through warmer temperatures is a win-win for both natural resources—water and energy—at the heart of data center operations."

I kind of lost the will to have contact or know more. Any of you in the same boat?

I post here because this is the sub where we accept NHI exists and has been interacting with us for long.

I've deep dived into the topic HARD for a long time now. I always end up with the same conclusions: The phenomenon is local to Earth, from other planets and galaxies, interdimensional and spiritual. These for sure. It might also include time travel.

Here's another conclusion: Contactees don't get told shit. We seem to be chimpanzees for them, these dangerous monkeys, regardless of the species doing the contact. They either want to use us, satisfy their curiosity, or we are a resource to them of some kind, or they want us to help them but are very cryptic and seem to forget that telling just one human is kind of pointless.

Some people get told some stuff but never the whole deal, and many get just apocalyptic visions. People's lives after contact usually get fucked up. Or their health. Humor is almost never found in contactee stories.

It's all so grey and gloomy. Maybe it's because I don't like this being treated like a child, like this inferior thing, even if we are.

Yes it's lovely seeing the lights in the sky when you get to have a glimpse at them. How many blurry lights can you get to see before you get bored?

I guess I'm kind of done with the topic. The myriad of assassinations by the gov and black projects. The eternal dodging of justice. The hiding of technology that would make of Earth a paradise. The changing of history and hiding of so much of it. I could go on.

It's all so very very dark. I guess I'm done with it. If any of you are Warhammer 40k fans, fuck me, I see that being our future if I'm gonna base it on what we are now.

Anyways. Just looking for different point of views on this. Or similar.

Request: Recommendations of cutaway and exploding diagram books

Hi! If this has been covered feel free to remove the post.

I was wondering if you could point me towards good versions of these books. To be clear, cutaway books are those that for instance, show you a watchtower but it's cut so you can see inside, and it explains what each part does and how it functions.

It's similar but different to explode diagrams in which, very much seen with engines for instance, each part is separated from the other so that you can see each one individually.

Anyways, that's what I'm looking for. This is /medieval but if you also happen to know of books like these about other topics you find interesting, I'd love to know about that too.

Thanks

Loaded the new washer-dryer manual in a project as .toml files so my girlfriend knows how to use it

This is useful for any of you with significant others, parents or grandparents that have a hard time with new tech.

My girlfriend was overwhelmed by all the options this new LG machine has compared to the old one we had. She can now go to this project I built and tell GPT exactly what she's gonna wash or dry, ideally with a photo of the tag info on the clothing item or whatever it is, and ask GPT which settings to use.

With this project data, GPT has every single detail about the this washer-dryer model settings and capabilities, so it guides her perfectly each time (and she doesn't need my help anymore each time she's using it).

It now answers like this: On your LG, use the Hand Wash/Wool option, max 2 kg, 30 °C, up to 800 rpm, and don’t use drying for wool.

Step by step setup:

  1. Download the manual
  2. Load it to GPT, ask it to make a plan to turn the manual into several .toml files, a read-me-first.md file that acts as guidance for itself on how to use the toml files.
  3. After it makes the plan, ask it to create all the files on its end and to give you back a .zip file with all of them.
  4. Unzip, load all the files into the Project as source files.
  5. Go to Project Settings. Write exactly what its purpose is and explain that whenever it gets asked a question about how to wash X thing, do this or that on the tv, or whatever manual you added, it should refer to the read-me-first.md file and then find the correct information to answer accurately.
  6. Done. You now have a project that is an absolute expert in the device you loaded the manual of.

--

You can use this with everything, really.

- Do you walk dangerous mountain trails? Is there a lot of info you have that could be loaded as a project?

- Does a parent or grandparent have to take like 6 medications a day and they want to know more about it? Load the medication leaflets and other official info into a project and they can ask away.

-Do you have no idea how your car works? Load the whole damn manual into a project.

- This idea was from GPT itself: “House Bible” GPT

Load:

  • Appliance manuals
  • Warranty PDFs
  • Paint colors used in each room
  • Router passwords/instructions
  • Fuse box notes
  • Plumbing/electrical notes
  • Contractor invoices
  • Maintenance schedule
  • Photos of weird valves/switches

I could go on. You get it.

Cheers

Which game did you pick up as a younger person and found too difficult but now picked up again and actually enjoyed?

I tried Abe's Oddyssey Exodus when I was 9. I just couldn't, man. I absolutely sucked at it.

Tried it again over the years, couldn't get the interest going. Played today again, and it's just a wonderful puzzle, dark, gory machine.

Any examples of your own?

We might be fruit flies in space

The other day I was working on my pc. The littlest fruit fly was flying around, bothering as usual. I paid no mind to it. I was fully concentrated on my work.

At one point, bothering my focus, I feel an itch on my right ear. I instinctively scratched, and felt something cold on my skin. When I looked at my fingers, what remained of the fruit fly was smeared like paint on one of them.

Mind you, this was an accident. I did not intend to kill the little thing. The problem itself was the vast difference between what they are and us. A fruit fly has absolutely no capability of understanding what a human is, even far less what we can do. The fruit fly doesn't even sense - there's a giant that can kill me, I should avoid it at all costs - It just... fruit flies through its short life. And there is absolutely no way that you can make this tiny insect understand anything beyond its existence. With its biological hardware, such an endeavor is just not possible.

So that got me thinking, we are someone's fruit fly in the universe. Meaningless to them, almost. And we could be erased from space and time in but an instant, by mistake, by some other beings that live out there, somewhere. Not because they want to, but because unbeknown to us, we just made them itch somehow, and they scratched.

And here's the weird part; those guys we're a fruit fly to? They are a fruit fly as well, to some other beings in the universe. The scale is just unimaginable.

I do not intend to know how far this would go in scale, but the thought hit me fast and clear. I guess that in a way, this is a part of what the Dark Forest theory warns about.

Anyways, has any of you thought of anything similar?

You're totally dependent on token price. If there is a crisis or a sudden surge in the price of tokens of all the good AIs out there, your product is fucked.

Personally, I like building software the old way. It's in your computer, it's yours. There's a 10% AI powered part in what I build that is not necessary, but if you want it, it helps.

I'm not saying build like me, I'm saying, hey, take into consideration that your whole business depends on what these people decide API token pricing is.
