what breed is this little lady?

been taking care of this little lady and wondering what her breed is. At first I thought she is obviously just a Tabby but now I see a little but of some orange Tortie pattern or is it just me? Maybe a mix?

feeling lonely

this isn't necessarily only during PMDD. It started during PMDD, but it's gotten worse and now I feel very lonely most of the time

the thing is, I'm not alone. I have lovely people in my life. I have a stable family, bf, and friends, but for some reason, I feel lonely. Most of the time, I just feel like a burden and so misunderstood. Because I feel that way, my mind is constantly preparing me for the day that everyone close to me will leave me, so it won't be as shocked and heartbroken if it happens (I think)

I've been taking sleeping pills more frequently just to calm myself down. The only time I realize how on edge I constantly am is when I take them. It's like they quiet my mind enough for me to notice just how exhausted I am from feeling this way all the time. Sometimes it feels like my own mind is slowly destroying me from the inside

I'm not very good at talking about my thoughts and feelings because I grew up with a father who never believed me or my mom whenever we were sick. He always thought people were just looking for pity and unfortunately that's something that stuck with me. Which is why this subreddit is good to just vent

whenever I try to open up in real life, I immediately feel like I'm either fishing for pity, being a burden or that people completely misunderstand what's actually important to me

I live in Germany and I've heard about Lexapro. I really want to get on it. At this point, I'd honestly rather feel numb and calm than keep dealing with these intense feelings and thoughts that are always so overwhelmingly negative

subtle goth-inspired makeup look?

hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out a new style for myself and need some advice.

I used to have very light brown hair, but I dyed it dark brown a couple of days ago. I really love how it looks because I have pale skin and very dark eyebrows (almost black). Now I'm thinking about dyeing my hair completely black and changing up my makeup too.

I don't want to post a picture of my face here, but I've been told I look a bit like Daisy Edgar-Jones, if that helps.

I was thinking about a subtle goth-inspired look, but I'm not really sure what that would look like. I'm pretty shy and don't like drawing attention to myself, so I'd prefer something more understated.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions

big crash out over failed recipe

pmdd is crazy cause why did I have a crash out crazy style just because I wanted to make Menemen (turkish scrambled eggs with tomatoes) for my dad this morning and it turned into a complete disaster thanks to the dry and rock hard tomatoes. I've been in such a bad mood ever since, and I decided to go to the gym just to get my anger out.

You genuinely can't explain this to anyone. I'm still rational enough to realize how ridiculously stupid it is lol

teaching english through movies – thesis ideas?

Hi everyone! I have a question and would love to get some ideas…

I will be writing my bachelor's thesis at the end of this year or the beginning of next year, and I'm currently looking for possible topics. The reason I'm posting here is that I'd like to connect my thesis with movies, which could work quite well with my degree.

I'm from germany and I study english, with a focus on Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). During my studies, I took two seminars related to teaching English through films. One was more general, while the other focused specifically on teaching different cultures through movies (for example Encanto lol).

I'd like to write my thesis on something similar, using films to teach english in a german-speaking classroom. However, my supervisor pointed out that the topic needs to be more specific. For example, it could focus on themes such as the portrayal of AI in films, cultural representation, stereotypes, social issues, or something along those lines.

Do you have any ideas for topics that sound interesting or worthwhile to explore? Were there any particular themes or topics you yourself discussed in school that left an impression on you? I'm open to pretty much anything.

The only requirements are that there should be enough english-language films available on the topic and that it would make sense to teach it to school-aged students.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

help – gynecologist appointment

hi everyone,

I finally have a gynecologist appointment in two weeks and I want to bring up what I strongly suspect is PMDD. I've never been officially diagnosed, but I've had severe physical and emotional symptoms around my cycle since I was about 10 years old, and they seem to be getting worse as I get older.

I mentioned it to a gynecologist once years ago, but I didn't feel like it was taken seriously. I'm hoping things may be different now that PMDD is more widely recognized.

for those of you who have discussed PMDD with your gynecologist, how did that conversation go? Were there any specific questions you wish you had asked, or things you think are important to bring up? I've also never taken the pill before, so if hormonal birth control was suggested to you for PMDD, I'd love to know what questions you asked and what you wish you had known beforehand. I am now 26 years old btw.

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you!

don’t want to exist with this anymore

pmdd so bad this time in every aspect. My boobs are extremely sore and hurt when I walk, even my armpits hurt. Im freezing, but at the same time Im sweating a lot. Not to mention the mental stuff. Im so incredibly unhappy and cry all the time.
I have an appointment with my gyno, but I just know its going to be hell. You have to go through 5 different doctors before you’re finally taken seriously and get genuine help.
I feel so lonely and hopeless. Will it be like this forever? Will there always just be 5 days a month where I feel “good”?

Maybe I’m biased cause this is one of my favorite movies, and I love Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac, but Ex Machina has the most beautiful steelbooks and limited edition sets I’ve ever seen. I own a few others and just wanted to share the beauty of this one here. Sorry for the bad light in my room.
