Title says it all, need help identifying my GOAT and absolute unit of a cat, Wolverine
Edit: We should have given it the proper attention well before Wolverine reached this state. But he is losing weight due to a combination of dieting, playing with him consistently, and exercise. I was but a child, and my single father was raising 3 children on his own because my mother decided to run across the country when we adopted him 10 years ago. We have learned from our past failures, and have two other happy healthy cats.
Was visiting Carmel by the sea and happened upon a car show. This cute kitty was on one of the cars. It seems exotic and was well trained. Relatively small too.
For context, a few days ago I went walking in a state park with my mom and nephew. When we got back to our car to go home, we saw two cats in the forest that weren't there before.
They both looked like long-haired, possibly silver, classic tabbies. One was chocolate and one was lilac. The swirls in the chocolate one's coat were really light. My concern is that they were just recently dumped there since they seemed to have so many rare traits. One of them was meowing a lot but they were both very skittish and didn't let us near them.
Obviously it's sad to see any stray cat, but I'm just worried that someone took their pets and just abandoned them? If I go back again, I might try to look for them. Hopefully someone picked them up or something though.
Got him a couple of weeks ago, he’s about 13 or 14 weeks now. Paid £600 for him as a British Shorthair.
I’ve been looking at other BSH online and his tail is nothing like theirs. Theirs are thick the whole way down with a rounded end. His is long and thin and comes to a point, more like a normal moggy.
Is the tail something that fills out as he grows, or does it mean he isn’t pure? He was advertised as being pure. From the uk , bought on pets4homes.
Found in an engine bay. Is this a calico cat? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cat like this before
can anyone identify her? we got her through an adoption center but my family never told me her breed.
Please help me, they are very cute..
been taking care of this little lady and wondering what her breed is. At first I thought she is obviously just a Tabby but now I see a little but of some orange Tortie pattern or is it just me? Maybe a mix?
Been wondering if my adorable little guy Smudge is a true Siamese or not. He seems to have the eye color and ears of a Siamese, but I haven’t ever seen another cat that looks just like him.
I've been trying to figure this out for awhile, he's off white and his stripes are gray, brown, and orangish color of its not clear enough in the pictures
I thought possibly siamese when he was kitten but yeah, not so much 😅
Also picture of him as a kitten cause he's just so dang cute 😍
I recently adopted this adorable ragdoll, but got a bit confused at the explaination the shelter gave me. Apparently she was rescued along with 30 other ragdolls from a breeder and her European passport has like a line with a bunch of letters and numbers under her breed registration section.
I picked up our new kitten today. She is a rescue. Her adoption papers say Siamese but I’m not sure if she fits that breed standard. Either way, she’s super affectionate and we’re thrilled to have her!
(Disclaimer: this is not a breeding adv/project! I never had and even can't own pure breed cats. This is just to discuss about a certain gene/variation)
When I was a child, I had a mutt cat that looked different than the common cats I often seen around
I thought she was a common gray tabby. Only many years later I discovered that her pelt colour was actually black smoke and it's incredibly rare, despite being caused by a dominant gene (silver)
This makes me wonder: would a breed that's based on this smoke gene (and perhaps a pelt texture that fits it, like semi long hair like in Somali) gain popularity/interest in people??? What do you think about
Lately I saw a trend in breeding extreme traits (dwarfism, fold, etc..) which can often be hight maintain, but it seems no one is focusing on this pelt colour despite imo it being so pretty and particular
(My cat Lucy for reference, aka my first and only black smoke)
