Sharing my Xpeng G6 channel - Electric Carboy

Hi everyone! I started making some online content related to Xpeng.

I noticed there isn't a lot of info worldwide about Xpeng yet, especially for those who are looking for alternatives to more popular brands like Tesla.

I came from a Tesla Model 3 and my reviews and videos have a heavy focus in comparing Xpeng and Tesla according to my daily experience.

I also cover features and details you may not know about the car. I've already covered why I decided to go with Xpeng instead of Tesla and some of the car features like the newly added One pedal driving.

The next video will be about comparing the G6 trims, but intend to cover broader aspects about EVs in general as well.

If you're interested in following I do longer in depth videos on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@electriccarboypt

I also do shorter videos and photo reviews on Instagram and Tiktok:

Is the Dashcam available in your country?

I'm making a video on this subject and I'd like to get your input.

For those who aren't aware, the Dashcam feature is not allowed in every country, to be clear I'm talking about recording footage during your drive, not Xguard (sentry mode).

In Portugal, as far as I know, only Tesla has their Dashcam feature officially enabled, this is a gray area in our law where technically you can't record people and cars in public spaces, however if this is due to asset protection then in some cases it is allowed, seems that's the way Tesla went, but many brands, such as Xpeng, didn't want to take their chances. There are some Portuguese G6 models for example that have the feature enabled but only because they were actually meant for Spain and were instead imported here.

How does this work in your country? Thanks in advance.

XPeng G6 DC charging issues

Hi guys,

Yet again I come to you with some questions about the G6.

Yesterday I did my first (longer) trip with the G6, it was the first time I tried DC charging with this car and things didn't exactly go as planned.

Basically I tried all kinds of chargers and charging would either:

- Not even start

- Stop ramdomly after a few minutes

I tried with multiple cards and different chargers, and the result was always the same, sometimes I got it to charge for 5 to 10 minutes and it would just just stop saying the charge was completed. Until one time where it actually charged without interruptions in a 120kW charger.

I checked my payment methods, they were not the issue as it happened across different charging apps.

The thing is: there are no error messages, not on the car, not on the charger, it just says "charging completed" like I was the one interrupting it either via the charger or car.

I also tried a 400kW charger and it never got past 260kW charging speed, at first I thought it could be lack of preconditioning but I had been driving for a while and the outside temperature was 20ºC, I don't think that was it.

I have also had these random stops with AC charging at home above 16A but I blamed it on my electrical setup, I'm not so sure now.

Can anyone relate to this kind of behavior? I'm still going to do more tests, but it would be helpful to get your feedback. Thanks in advance!

Como evoluir de Embedded

Boas pessoal.

Sinto-me um bocado perdido e dava jeito algum feedback.

Obrigado desde já.

Xpeng G6 acceleration pedal response

Hi everyone. I have a question regarding acceleration response, picture the following scenario: the car stops at an intersection, Xpedal is on, but then at times you need a quick response (for example when the oncoming car yields to you) but then you put your foot to the pedal and there's like half a second where it doesn't respond at all, like it lags, has anyone ever felt this?

I don't quite feel this when the car is already moving, I found it's more when I have just stopped and want to get moving again. I tried all 3 acceleration response settings but I found the same issue in response delay in this specific situation. Haven't tried without Xpedal on, not sure if this influences something.

I come from a Tesla Model 3 and have always found the acceleration response to be smooth and precise to the pedal pressing, maybe I just haven't gotten used to the G6, thoughts?

Android Auto autostart in G6

Hi everyone,

I have a G6 MY25. Android Auto has been giving me a hard time because it starts automatically without asking. This even happens when I don't get into the car and simply stay near it for a while.

It can be extremely inconvenient because my phone loses its Wi-Fi connection when Android Auto connects, and while driving it sometimes switches to the Android Auto screen at the worst possible moments (for example, when I'm performing a tight maneuver).

Has anyone found a solution to this that doesn't involve disabling Android Auto completely?

Thanks.

Boas,

Gostava de ter uma fonte de rendimento extra em part time, uma vez que o meu emprego principal anda um bocado parado, acho que consigo conciliar as duas coisas. Um colega sugeriu-me tirar o CCP e começar a dar formações.
