[Online][5e 2024][UTC+11][LGBTQPlus] Looking for players for Curse of Strahd

Hi all,

One of my friends played a little D&D in the past and is looking to get back into it. I'm a big tabletop fan and I'm jumping at the opportunity. I've GM'd a lot of games but mostly Call of Cthulhu and don't really know any D&D players so I figured I'd post here.

I'm looking for players who are comfortable with a horror focused game. I'm looking to run this leaning on the horror elements. My goal is to lessen the combat focus of D&D by making combat more punishing which will also make the monsters scarier and hopefully make combat more interesting

Overall I think it'll be 70/30 RP to combat

My group is queer and trans and we're looking for other trans players. In general no bigotry will be tolerated at the table.

I'm most likely planning for sessions Friday evening or on weekends Melbourne/Sydney time. Flexible there.

Welcome to all levels of players. We'll start at level one. I've GMd for many new players and am happy to teach the rules.

My plan is to use discord for voice chat and foundry for the VTT.

Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or PM me with a little about yourself!

Thank you

My groups is queer and trans so we'll need someone who is actively okay with playing with us. In general no bigotry will be tolerated at the table.

Australians: I was able to get the skins with a VPN and a purchase of Coke Zero from Woolworths

Not sure if anyone else has figured this out but by using a VPN and setting my location to France I was able to download the coke app and scan receipts. It accepted my receipt from Woolworths for the purchase of a 1.25L First Light tie in Coke bottle and I was then able to spin and receive one of the skins.

The French app seems to give you one credit for any coke product and you then use that to spin, so it's possible you might be able to use any coke purchase (meaning countries that don't have a tie in MIGHT be able to get the skins).

I obviously can't confirm if this works for other countries but it's worth a shot! Australia specific Coke Zero is on sale this week at Woolworths so now is a good time to try it out.

I'm on Android and the app may work differently on IOS I cannot confirm.

The app gives you voucher codes but also says it'll email you the code after release of the game so I'm not sure how it'll work.

Is there a reason green cymbals map to a crash and blue to ride?

This may be a very silly question but I've just bought an Alesis Nitro Max and following the mapping on the wiki have mapped the Crash to green and Ride to Blue. On the Alesis Nitro Max the Ride is all the way on the right and the crash more towards the left while in game the green is on the right. The flipped directions are messing with my head and I thought I'd ask if there a reason those mappings are recommended or if I could flip them around with no issues

Thanks
