Need advice… do I have a dud?

I purchased a 2022 F150 Powerboost Lariat with 17k miles in November 2025 (about 6 months ago). I’m aware of the pesky issues with the 21/22 model years especially related to the transmission. It had a clean carfax, no red flags, regular maintenance. Was a lease trade-in. With that said, since I took ownership of the vehicle, here are the issues I’ve had:

  1. Software issue causing problems with sensors/cameras (fixed with simple software update at dealership).
  2. MAJOR failure of gateway control module plus a wiring harness. (5 weeks in the shop…Module and wiring harness needed to be replaced).
  3. Right rear parking break failure (couple days in the shop. Needed to be replaced)
  4. Battery coolant pump failure (likely needs to be replaced. Still waiting to hear timeline).

Four issues within 6 months on a truck that has ~25k miles on it…. I have an extended warranty, and that’s about the only reason I’m not immediately trading it in. What’s your opinion? Is this all just terrible luck? Do I have a dud truck? Should I take the loss on the warranty I purchased and just trade it in for a new vehicle?

Any advice is appreciated!

“Hypermiling”

How much effect does hypermiling actually have with the lightning? I’m notorious for driving like a grandpa…I use the pedals as little as possible, allow gravity and momentum to help as much as possible, and am mindful of cruising at over 70mph. I’m a powerboost owner, and do get pretty good mpg because of this.
I’ve been curious about how much of an effect this has with the lightning. Given the 320 mile range of the ER models, I’ve heard that people with a lead foot can sometimes see a 15-20% range reduction. Do people consistently get over 320 miles who are chronic “hypermilers”?
