Hey Mobility camp- what do you need for donations this year?

Such an amazing camp that helps so many people. I always try to bring some crutches. But what else do you need? I’ll try to fit in a few things to drop by.

Looking for good Halloween pieces

Hi everyone, my community band plays the same “spooky” concert band pieces every year. I’d love to come forward with some great suggestions. What is everyone else playing for Halloween?

Games with basically “GOD mode”

Hi everyone, I’m looking for games for adults where you can turn on a feature where you can’t die. I’ll age myself: as in, the IDDQD god mode in DOOM the computer game. You just became invincible.

I don’t have amazing dexterity or gaming thumbs so when a game requires a well executed jump-turn-slide in order to complete something, I’m the goober trying it 20 times in a row and dying each time and getting pissed at continuously wasting 15 seconds each time with a loading screen. Plus- it’s not fun. Sometimes I just want to be in a game where I get to do all the things, even combat, but I don’t have the anxiety of dying over and over.

I love the Lego games for this reason (bonus, smashing all kinds of things is fun.) I also loved BotW and TotK because I could choose to run away from combat if needed, or there were enough tricks/upgrades/work arounds that I could play and not die very often.

I tried some kids games like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. They’re a bit too simple (and you can die a lot.) i tried Skyrim and liked it enough but still die quite often even on easy mode if I get into a hairy situation. I tried Mario Odyssey and within an hour I was pissed at having to do some weird ass backwards jump to advance that I couldn’t quite master.

I also liked Fenyx Immortals Rising.

Anyone have suggestions? I have a switch 1. Thanks!

What are you doing to bring whimsy this year?

It’s my favorite part of burning man. Seeing the washing machine wandering around, dragging the cord behind it. Seeing someone dress up as a clown, at night, and wait in the Porto’s for someone to open the door. Standing by the Porto’s in a full suit with a clipboard asking if you have a reservation. Etc.

What are you bringing this year?

I am making a lot of coffee early in the morning and walking around with it in a wagon to offer to people on their way back to camp after being up all night. Whimsy: didn’t bring a cup? I have a ton of weirdo things that you can drink out of that aren’t cups but work, including a flower vase and a hamsters water bowl.

Where to reroute dryer exhaust?

Hi everyone! In my house, the dryer is in the laundry room and it vents through a very short path from the room, thru the wall and onto the back porch.

It’s great that it’s a short path, but effectively over a few weeks, the area of the back porch is covered in lint.

I looked up several ways to clean up the lint and everything online basically says to route the dryer exhaust elsewhere, which isn’t possible here (it exhausts onto the porch. If I add tubing, it’ll exhaust onto the grass which isn’t better.)

Is there a kind of trap I could put to try to catch the outgoing lint instead? I’m wary of trying to capture hot lint as I’m aware it’s a fire hazard, but there isn’t really a better place to pipe the dryer exhaust.

Thanks!

Assistance deciding if I have a chance at citizenship?

I am in contact with a German law firm that came recommended to me, which is asking €500 to determine if I am eligible for citizenship.

Before I pay so much money, I want to make sure I actually have a chance.

My father was born in Berlin in 1945 to German parents. He and his siblings are all German. I have documentation.

All of them immigrated to America in 1958. I have their citizenship paperwork where they all applied to be American citizens. My father was 12-13 at the time.

As an American, he later married my mother (a Dutch woman who came to America at the age of 24) and they had me and my siblings, all in America.

Do I have any avenue forward to claim German citizenship with this information?

Thank you so much.
