I’m wondering if anyone here has insights into the typical salary ranges for a Lecturer position at NUS, or any experience dealing with their HR during the negotiation phase.

To give some context: I’ve been on the job hunt and unemployed for the past 6 months, which has been incredibly stressful. I am relieved and grateful to have recently passed the interviews and received a verbal offer (no talk on salary). I’m currently awaiting the official written offer letter, and I think a salary negotiation discussion will likely follow soon.

On one hand, I’m just so thankful to have a solid opportunity on the table and I don't want to botch it. On the other hand, I want to ensure I’m not completely lowballing myself (due to stress and desperation of unemployment maybe) and that I anchor my expectations realistically.

I would deeply appreciate any advice or data points on:
- The typical starting monthly salary range for an NUS Lecturer.
- How much room for negotiation there typically is once a verbal offer is made.
- How NUS HR generally views negotiation (are they rigid with pay range like public sector?).
