

Spruce tip syrup - Mold?
Dear community! I'm hoping to get your guidance!
I've been making spruce tip syrup following a Nordic recipe where you just put spruces tips and sugar in layers, let it sit in the sun, and shake it every now and then.
After a few weeks, some few of the ends of the tips seems to developed mold.
- Is this mold?
- Is this safe to eat? Out should I throw away the whole batch?

After a few weeks, the spruce tips have turned brown. Now significantly, some few of the ends of the tips seems to developed mold.
- Does it matter that it have turned brown?
- Is this mold?
- Is this safe to eat?
