Best retirement planner and asset management software (paid)

I'm looking for something to manage all I have now. But also allow me to plug in how much I make now, how much I will make in the future, large amounts of cash coming in 2 years from now, etc. And then show me what I should have by retirement age and how long I can sustain myself based on my inputted budget, etc. Basically something that does it all for no more than $250-$300/yr.

Must work in a browser. Thanks all.

Can I claim a tax credit for an Air Conditioner I bought a few years ago?

I forget to claim a tax credit for an A/C I bought a few years ago. Could I do an amended return to claim this now? Thanks.

Questions about IUL

Hello. I am considering an IUL in the near future. The company I work for will be selling soon, and I will have quite a bit of money to utilize. Low 7-digits. I want to invest in real estate. I plan to use the IUL strictly for the cash benefit and not the death benefit. I have plenty of term life.

I understand that it's very easy to get screwed with huge fees/commissions. I am extremely careful and have a legal background. I would analyze the contract heavily. I will interview numerous brokers. I also understand that it generally takes 5-6 years to have access to the majority of the cash value. That is OK, I can wait. I'm 54 years old.

Is there anything else I should consider? Any reason to consider Whole Life other than fixed iincome? Thank you.

How to allocate refunds

When I receive a refund in my checking account, do I put it back into the category the intial charge was in, or mark it as an inflow?

Also, would this be the same procedure for credit cards? Thank you.

Liquidate IRA to pay off debt?

Hello all. My best friend is in a situation and I keep telling him to liquidate his IRA to pay off his debt. He doesn't use Reddit, but I am starting this post to show him where he's making a mistake in keeping on paying this debt. Here are the details.

He has a traditional IRA worth $120K. He's under 59.5 so would pay the penalty. His tax rate is 24%. So he would basically lose 34% of this to taxes/penalties. This sucks... This is all the retirement he has at 44.

He also has $136K in consumer debt that he pays $3600/month on in minimum payments. Credit cards, personal loans, and cars. He barely makes ends meet paying for this. It will be a long time till everything is paid off. He would only have $80K to use after paying taxes/penalties on the IRA. But, he could pay off about $2500/month in payments. With an extra $2500/month, he could then snowball the rest and get out of debt in like 2 years. Then he could start saving $3600/month towards retirement. Seems like such a better solution to me. Am I wrong?

Questions about Turno costs

Hi. I am looking into Turno for the first time. I am seeing extremely high costs compared to what I pay my own cleaner. For example, I pay my cleaner $150 to do my house. They do an incredible job, but they do not do STRs. The cleaners on Turno want to $190-$250 plus fees. This is the central east coast of FL.

Second, I cannot determine what fees I have to pay for Turno? Is it the per-project fee I am seeing with each bid I received? Is there other fees? For some reason, I thought Turno was around $30/month for everything. I guess I am wrong.

Thank you for the help.

EDIT: I am now getting bids for $350 for a basic 4/3. It's literally 250% more than I currently pay. How can anyone afford these prices?

Why do you host on VRBO?

I am considering using them. But this sub is filed with people being screwed by them. Should I even bother? Sounds depressing. Thank you all.

Should we start a hosting business in FL at this point in time?

Hello all. My wife and I are considering starting a hosting business on the central east coast of FL. We are new to this market, but we will be taking extensive coursework from a program we found online. I won't say which program or the costs, as this seems irrelevant. I know there are tons of huge corps that handle the majority of the market. But I am hoping local experience and first-class service will make a difference.

We're extremely motivated to do this and believe we can provide exceptional support to poorly performing STRs as well as vacant LTRs, which we hope to convince to move to STR.

I don't expect to host 25+ properties. But rather a handful that could bring in supplemental income. We do not plan on taking percentage commissions, as I know this requires a broker's license. We will not handle money either. Just be listed as co-hosts. And tackle all the things an owner may not want to do.

Thank you for any advice. If you all think this is a horrible idea, I would love some suggestions on how to break into this world. Much appreciated.

Are their special licenses to be a cost-host in Florida?

I'm interested in starting a co-hosting business in FL, for local STRs only. Please don't tell me not to do it. That's not what I asked. I do want to know if I need to be a licensed real estate agent/broker or something like that? ChatGPT seems to think I do. Thank you for any assistance.

Huge tax burden from W2 income next year

Forgive me if this is the wrong subreddit

I will be receiving between $2M - $3M from my company selling early next year. I receive a percentage of the sale price known as a carve-out, whatever that means. Unfortunately, the company is an S-Corp, so the income would be on a W-2. My federal tax burden could be $700K - $1M. Are there ways to reduce this tax burden? I have heard of things such as buying short-term rentals, where you can depreciate some of the purchase price, which can reduce my income for that year only. Is this a real thing? Good strategy?

I will certainly work with a CPA, but would love some ideas from some Redditors. Thank you.

Why does the shuffle feature not work very well?

I have a 1000 song playlist and it plays the same 100 songs over and over.
