My experience with Jinnah Hospital Staff

I moved to Lahore just two months ago. Last night, my roommate fell down some stairs and got his leg injured. So at 2 A.M, we went to Jinnah Hospital. I had this image of government hospitals in my mind that the staff will behave rudely, we will be served poorly and stuff like that. But TBH I was amazed at how polite the staff was. We got through the first aid department, then the pharmacy, then the X-ray department and finally at the ortho department (I dunno if these are called departments or whatev)... Each individual was so kind and polite. This one nurse called us "beta, bcha" and she guided us through the whole process. The ortho docs were very friendly and the person who did my friend's bandages was also a very kind man. We went to the canteen and grabbed some chaye and snacks for the kind nurse. When we offered her, she said "Aap mery bcho jesy hyn... Main achi nhi lgu gi aap sy yeh lety hue" but we insisted and she took them. I have been in Fsd and Toba hospitals before and the staff there won't even consider you human. So this was a truly wholesome experience for me., not for my friend tho.... He's on a 2 week bed rest.

Looking for roommates

Hi Fam

We are considering renting a flat in johar town. The under consideration property is a lower portion of a two story house. It has one master bedroom, a TV lounge and a drawing room. There is a kitchen and two washrooms as well. The location is a walking distance of 5 minutes from UMT. Our goal is to accommodate at least 3 roommates so the fair won't be a burden on any of us. The flat has an AC as well. People with jobs are preferred who only need a place to rest, meaning they would be okay to share the house with 3-4 people. If anyone's interested, DM me.

Is this company legit?

I have received this from two sources now. Is AJAO recruitment legit? They demand a fee of 100 rupees on form submission, which is not much but I don't wanna be supporting a fraud. Being a Pakistani, it seems like a fraud.

Has anyone got selected through this?

Need guidance from Senior SW Engineers

Hello Everyone

I have recently joined a telecom company as a junior developer. They have their private framework built around javascript. I had no problem with the work as I am strong with vanilla JS. The thing is, they strongly believe in "It should work. Nothing else matters" policy. No software engineering principles are being followed there. No documentation is available, no clean code practices are being followed. The whole codebase is dumped into a few files that have multiple tangled responsibilities. Even variable and file names are like "a1, b2, test, testABC"... I hope you're getting my point.

I'm not willing to leave yet because it's my first job and there is little to zero chance for them to be laying off employees. Job security is good. I want advice from senior software engineers. If I wanna be the first one to apply the proper software engineering rules on that system with documentation and code refactoring, how should I proceed? Like give me general guidance on how to tackle a legacy system that has been worked upon by many devs without proper documentation

Hi

I am a recently graduated software engineer. I graduated 6 months ago so it might not be that recent. I faced a hella difficulty getting hired. Remained jobless, gave countless interviews but got rejected. Now I got a job through a reference. I wanted to ask devs and engineers working in this field for years that If I want to lay some ground work for my own little startup to earn good in this economy, what should I do? Because the job market is very difficult right now. I have some friends who are abroad in Europe and Australia. How can I use this to my advantage and build a business mindset so that in the upcoming three to four years, I would have a decent setup of my own with my friends as shareholders. Kindly guide me through it and also describe mistakes you made in your journey that I should avoid.
