Cedar Rapids needs ONE more team!
Fun club. They do a good job with the ice.

Made this for a friend of mine. Just a prototype, I need to fine tune a few things. Poplar, oak, cherry (hog lines). Houses are poured epoxy with pigment.
I built a base for a desk top I made. I was trying to convince myself that my work was good, and that it worked with the top. Nope. Just let it go. I can do better.
He’s been coming around for a week or so, we plan at the very least to TNR this guy if we can’t find him a home (we already have 7.) I caught him getting busy under my wife’s car the other night, if you know what I mean. Wary of us, but he’s been getting closer.
LOL it’s not about the shirt. That’s me with my new 92FS. I was all set to make a post about taking it out for a test run today (love it) when this bullshit happened at my usual indoor range.
I’m taking spent brass off the bench to take up the can (also brought my GP100 along today) when I see this jackwagon a few stalls over firing a rifle from BEHiND the booth. Muzzle totally visible, that’s how far back he was. RSO usually works by CCTV from the desk so I immediately pack up and go have a word. It turns out said jackwagon is their gunsmith. Owner: “I’ll go have a talk with him.” Me: “that’s not cool at all.” Added bonus: range rules say “no rifle calibers” and I’m pretty sure he was shooting 5.56. I didn’t stick around long enough to find out. (All rifles I have seen fired there have been .22)
I’m pretty upset about all this. It feels like a cavalier attitude towards safety. I may be a newcomer with like 8 months under my belt here, so maybe I’m overly sensitive.
