Walker Delwood

First pic is the day I found him on the road, second pic is what a happy boy he is now! (He didn’t have a chip. He was either dumped, or he escaped from someone who didn’t care enough to look for him. I posted him to all the local lost animal pages at the time, and reported him as found to the vets and the shelter. He was so full of fleas you could see them walking up and down the white stripe on his face, and he had a belly full of worms. Our vet said he had been “bachin’ it” (living on his own like a bachelor) for a while, and he was only 12 weeks old!! Nobody claimed him, so we kept him!) He’s six years old this year!

It happened!!!!

There has been nothing in my RFY for weeks except fake hair and car parts and sketchy supplements. Imagine my shock when I just woke up and randomly checked and saw this. And I got it!! I’ve been in Vine for a little over a year and this is one of the best things I’ve gotten! (The others being a fancy wok and some AllClad pans.) I wish I understood the workings of Vine, I feel like it’s a psychological experiment sometimes, but yay!!! I’ve wanted one of these! (ETV was $249)

Tell me to get over it!

I have been a nurse for 15 years. I recently got a remote job, and I love it. However, my plan was to stay PRN at my previous outpatient job to keep up my IV skills. I’ve realized that won’t be feasible, with the hours of my current job, and I’m feeling SUCH guilt about it. I felt bad when I went from inpatient to outpatient, like I was losing some skills, and now I feel bad that I’m not going to be working in the real world at all. I’m a good nurse! I will have no direct patient contact! But at the same time, 15 years is a long time. I’ve done my time. I love sitting in my pajamas with my dog and cat snoring in the background, I love not having to drive anywhere, and I am using the knowledge that I’ve gained over the years to do this current job. I just can’t shake the guilt feeling that I’m wasting my skills. Please tell me I’m being nonsensical and it’s that ok to enjoy this part of my career.

Is wildfire smoke bad for Monarch butterflies?

I live in Ohio and the smoke has been really bad today. I found this butterfly, and it’s just not acting right. I tried to put it on some flowers or give it a flower (just the fact that it lets me pick it up means it’s not ok), but it’s not interested. I know there are a million things that could be wrong with it, but it looks mostly ok. Thoughts?

Emotional roller coaster

First I saw the picture, then I read the description. I’ve never gone from excited to sad so fast.

Good morning!

Honestly, I think my style is more rustic vintage grandma than cottagecore, but this felt cozy this morning!

What’s wrong with this apple tree?

Google says fire blight, but I thought I’d ask real people. It’s a Royal Gala, planted a month ago in southwest Ohio. When we planted it, some branches had flowers, and it seems like those branches died first. We planted other apple trees nearby that are totally fine.
