Great mouse rescue update

Hi All,

I deleted my other post with the video, I know some of you saw it.

On Saturday, I was in a petco and I saw the mice were in atrocious condition. I asked if I could take some and they let me take 8 at no cost. They all had bite injuries.

I've never had a mouse before, let alone 8, and they were all male.

My spouse and I had set up a 40 gallon and I learned that they all needed to be separated and we built 3 tub containers.

Yesterday, I reached out to a local rescue to see if they could take 4. Today, after I got home from dropping those babies off, I went to check on the remaining boys (now separated). One of them was lethargic and cold and breathing strangely (the video i had posted). He died in my hands. I was going to name him Lucky because he was going to be in the 40 gallon instead of a 20.

I just wanted to say that his life mattered and all these mice's lives mattered and this should never have happened. I'm honestly so heartbroken. We buried him under a tree in my backyard.

Up until just then, he'd seemed like he was doing okay. He had been eating and drinking and playing. The three that are left seem active and perky. They are eating and drinking. I gave them lots of clutter and the wheels are on there way.

I'm wondering what signs I need to look for in my remaining babies for if they might not make it. I don't think there's anything more I could have done but I have no idea if he just succumbed to injuries or if he was sick or what.

Please keep the comments kind. I really really care about these guys and I am doing my best.

Having a disorder that's made worse by hormones... but cannot take birth control... because of the disorder...

I don't need advice, I'm just mad and complaining.

I went off birth control last August (before I was diagnosed with migraines by a neurologist) after being on it for 15 years. I got diagnosed with migraines with aura last September or October.

My hormones wildly impact my migraines. I have migraines on about 75% of days (i just got migraine buddy so I'm still working on data input and tracking). Whenever I ovulate or go into luteal phase or get my period, those hormone shifts come with a migraine.

I'm currently on qulipta as a preventative and nurtec as an abortive. I use otc meds sparingly and use cefaly occasionally (i hate it).

I feel like if my hormones were stable, I'd have fewer migraines right? But my neurologist and pcp have both said I absolutely cannot be on hormonal birth control because of the stroke and heart attack risk.

It feels like a ouroboros situation, just one big snake eating its own tail. Migraines = not allowed on birth control = unstable hormones = more migraines.

I'm also wondering, once I go into premenopause and menopause, will I be able to take estrogen? I'm about a decade out from that but still!

Low altitude and high humidity- migraine free

I live in a very dry, high-altitude place. I have been on vacation on a cruise in the Caribbean for 4 days at sea level and with high humidity, and 0 migraine except the day I flew in. Day drinking- no migraine, neck pain- no migraine, got my period- no migraine. I think i need to move.

I've heard that humidity is bad for migraines but I feel so much better. I've been in near constant migraine for months at home. Who else has noticed altitude and humidity affecting migraines?

Also- any suggestions for places to move in the southeastern united states that leans more liberal and has a robust medical network? I would need a new neurologist and psychiatrist but honestly it's probably worth it.

Qulipta constipation

I recently started qulipta and I was warned it could cause constipation. Welp. Here i am, blocked tf up. I don't want to stop taking it because I am kind of blocked from taking other preventatives due to other health reasons.

Has anyone started qulipta, gotten constipated, and then your body adjusted?

Please drop your constipation tips below! I know i need to be taking in more fiber

Edit: I drink between 80-120 Oz of water a day because I live in a really dry place but I can definitely enhance it with electrolytes and fiber supplements!

Do foster organizations usually supply supplies?

I've been fostering for several months now and the organization i foster through requires you to pay for the supplies for your foster animal. Food, toys, beds, blankets, food dishes, etc. They only cover spay and neuter. I had never heard of organizations doing that when I started with them. I'm wondering what other people's experiences are?

I also paid full price to adopt my foster fail which also seems unusual. Cat tax is said foster fail

Cat got injured on RFID collar

My cat was grooming herself and the RFID tag got stuck in her mouth and broke her tooth. Obviously I want to return it and i am within the 30 days of the return policy. The policy sounds like they want everything unopened in original packaging and don't pay for shipping. From what I have scrolled on here, it doesn't seem like they have good customer service.

Has anyone else's pet been injured by one of these products and were you able to return it?

Migraine BOREDOM

I have had migraines and/or tension headaches almost every day this year except for 3 weeks in April. I keep overdoing it and then suffering the consequences. Right now I'm on day 3 of a migraine. Abortive didn't work on Friday and Cefaly didn't work. I'm trying to take it easy right now but I have so much shit to do and I am BORED.

This isn't a post asking for advice or anything unless you have tips for occupying your mind while you have a migraine and shouldn't do anything aggravating (I should get off my phone).

Vent in the comments about what pisses you off most when you have a migraine.

Hello migraine people,

I've noticed that one of my recurring situations when I get a migraine, especially in the evening is that I will be insistent that it is not a migraine and I do not need to take my meds.

I am currently experiencing a very severe weather shift and yesterday evening I was supremely nauseous and getting the start of the headache but when I went to bed and thought huh this could be a migraine, I should take my meds, my brain insisted that it is NOT a migraine and I just need to sleep it off. Obviously that is the devil talking. This has happened enough times that it's starting to feel like a symptom of the migraine is me thinking I am not having a migraine?

Has anyone else experienced this? I was going to try to search for this topic in the subreddit but I don't know what to search and my migraine is making me stupid.

My neurologist recommended cefaly as a preventative and acute treatment. It's a device that you stick to your forehead and it sends electrical pulses to a nerve to help with migraines. I've been using it since September and I hate it. I honestly don't really feel like it helps but I'm also not really committed to doing the daily preventative which probably makes a huge difference.

My main complaints are:

- it was absurdly expensive ($600 for the device and electrodes and it's not covered by insurance)

- the electrodes don't stick at all, I have to use medical tape to tape it down even though I follow the instructions of washing my forehead first

- it connects with Bluetooth to an app and the app sucks. The connection breaks so easily even if my phone is 6 inches away from my head

Has anyone else had significant success with it before?
