Any extra advice for a nursing foster I took in?

I have done lots of research but would like any additional input because I know you are all very knowledgeable 🩷💕 I’m leaving her alone in her 4 foot enclosure and giving her protein blocks, and chicken and egg (maybe Benebac too?)

I know most of what to do, regarding when to separate , etc. but if there’s any additional info, I’d love to hear it🩷 thank you! :)

Help please

I was given a gerbil from a friend who has dealing with an emergency situation so I’m fostering him but I can’t keep the gerbil. I have two elderly gerbils already who will not take well to a new friend and I don’t know what to do. help please? I’ve already tried Facebook rehoming groups and some ethical gerbil rescue groups but they are all full at the moment

Guys what?💀 what do you mean Mira dropped med school?

Saw this one the KPDH slime package at the store. it’s technically official merch but don’t know if this is a joke or not. Then again Rumi’s description said a “fearless” leader and we know she’s far from fearless (but we love her anyways)

Why do some give advice like this?😭😅

I just saw a post someone made about their new dwarf bucatstate enclosure and instead of giving helpful positive feedback, I saw multiple people say things like “why is that on top of that? Now it’s impossible for them to burrow in it.”

“Where is the sprays?”

“Too empty”

“Where is the wheel?”

OP was extremely receptive to it and explained how they are getting those things but it’s just insane to me the lack of basic decency from commenters?

If it was a case of someone having an awful enclosure and refusal to change then yeah, I’d be rude too.

But when someone is clearly trying and is leaning , it takes five seconds to add in a positive like “hey! I love how you did this and this! May I recommend maybe doing …..”

That being said, lots of you are SO nice! It’s just some people I get confused 😭

Look I am passionate too, but kindness is what will make people listen so they can help their hammies!!!!! Stop being so dry and robotic lol😂

TLDR: why is it so hard for some people to add a positive when giving feedback? Or some actual helpful advice that will help the hamster before criticism? Some people in this sub are SO NICE! But some are so dry and i worry it will discourage people from coming here and wanting to make a better life for their hammie!

Don’t open messages from people you don’t know!

There’s a guy named Timey Wimey who is trying to message people spoilers! (Or maybe fake spoilers idk)
Not sure what is wrong with these people smh

I didn’t really see anything but I saw one word and quickly clicked out

Found him at a vintage store yesterday! On his tag, I saw he’s a 2001 baby like me! Meet Ticky-Tacky!💕🦖🦕🦇

My lil pterodactyl dude
Was gonna name him Tikki Tavi like from Ricky Tikki Tavi but I said Ticky Tacky to my sister and thought it sounded funnier lol

I don’t know what to do😞

I had two gerbil best friends and one had to be put down at the ER vet at 3 AM this morning from a sudden stroke and not enough circulation to the brain for him to keep going. If love from me and his buddy would have kept him alive, he would still be here.

My heart breaks for Holden, he keeps looking for Hercules😞❤️‍🩹 no rescues or Craigslist has any gerbils, even expanded the search for within 5 hours away. I don’t want to support a pet store, I know they are usually sick and inbred and I don’t want to support a breeding mill but he needs a friend 😞 he’s two and half years old, just feeling sad for him right now and myself

Any advice would be so so appreciated, thank you💕

TLDR: one of my gerbils passed last night from a sudden stroke and my remaining buddy is very lonely and I can’t find any place that has available gerbils near me other than pet stores :( seeking advice on how to help him, and what to do for him. It’s breaking my heart seeing him so lost

Why do they want to eat my eyelashes/eyes?

Sweetest babies ever, so cuddly and smart and love attention. They will lick my hands and my face and never bite EXCEPT when they see my eyes! Is it lashes? What is it? They push my glasses away and go right for my eyes/eye lashes. One time they drew blood and so I keep them away from my eyes now but I am curious….why do they do this? I don’t think it’s aggression cause they never bite or try to in any other circumstance, they are usually very calm and sweet so I’m confused lol

Hello…wondering if anyone else felt this way

I want to start out by saying, I love my Mira and I will wait for her to be okay however long it takes 🩷

So I drove out 5 hours one way and 5 hours back to rescue a hamster that was in a rough situation. I love her, I truly do and I have been hand feeding her and giving her space the past couple weeks but she just is so scared and it hurts my heart for her.

My last two hamsters Stellaluna and Zelda (lived separately ofc) were the sweetest babies and they came out every night and would want me to hold them and they’d fall asleep on me. I miss them so much and I keep hoping my little Mira here will one day trust me but I feel guilty too because I keep comparing her to them.

I do have another hamster currently who is a sweetheart but even she has her sassy moments. I love how all hammies have their own personalities 💕 but I can’t help the empty space in my heart where Zelda and Stellaluna were. How can I stop comparing Mira to them? Any advice?💕

TLDR: my past two hamsters were so cuddly and sweet and my new rescue is not. I love her but I feel guilty that I keep comparing her to my old hamsters and wanting to have that connection with her. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience 💕

Oliver is one of my comfort characters, I adore this little dude. He’s absolutely adorable, his voice is so cute, he knows what he wants in life and doesn’t let anything stop him, and he’s very resilient and optimistic 💕 Oliver is awesome!
