Walmart + Returns

I am not thrilled with the Walmart + return policy. First off, it's great for run of the mill returns, and the fact its picked up at your residence is a great feature of Walmart +, but like everything they are over thinking again.

I bought a pair of Bose Earbuds. The earbuds are alright, but my phone and the buds aren't communicating well and I have to frequently reset the buds. So after a couple of days I have decided to return. I guess because they don't trust their own operation I am being forced to return them to the store, which negates Walmart +.

They want to compete with Amazon and other online retailers, but they are just dabbling and W+ is not ready for prime time. Rarely does a delivery go exactly as it should. Instead I receive more than I order, less than I order, damaged or already expired goods . I have had as many as six deliveries for a single order. My absolute favorite was when I ordered 6 basic two pocket folders and every single one was delivered separately at different times. Great use of resources

Anyway, they are not Amazon Prime or close to it, their website is messy and they seem to not be able to get their shit together. They don't trust their employees and their answer is to inconvenience the customer.

I think I am done....a

Pixel 9 Pro - 1 Year Later

I'm not usually a fanboy of much, but this week marks the 1 year mark for my 9 pro.

I realize both the flagship I-Phone and Galaxy have overall better hardware specs, but unequivocally the 9pro is the best phone I have owned.

Bottom line, the phone works seamlessly. I have had four or five flagship Samsung Galaxues and each was incredible. I have defiantly not owned an iPhone, but I am familiar and recognize that it is a high quality product.

So with that said, I am a heavy user of the Pixel for both work and personal use. I love the camera, the processor is more than I need and by no means a slouch. I have the 128gb version and have rarely used more than 64gb. Everything is automatically backed up so once a month or so, I delete pictures, videos and downloads and like most have more confidence in the cloud than I do in not losing the phone, so I couldn't justify paying more for the 256 or 512.

I use the phone primarily for trading when away from the office, pictures and video - two active kids and a fair amount of travel. I play a couple of games (Golf Clash) is one, and it's not particularly taxing of resources, but it is smooth, rendering is terrific and there is never a lag. Additionally, I use the phone to read, as a scanner, and as the master control of everything in the house and car. I monitor cameras as necessary and have all those things configured to my liking with minimal effort and usually all if those things are happening simultaneously.

I am a heavy user of AI, but by no means a power user.I do quite a bit of video editing, creation etc. What else, use it for podcasts and music. In the house, I have Google Home with cameras, speakers, and I stream in the car. I now have Google tvs or the google tv dongle on all tv and a fairly high end home theatre. I wasn't planning on it, but I slowly have moved from a mixed home ecosystem to almost entirely a Google ecosystem.

I have always preferred Android and not because it was always technically superior, but at least a while back, Apple in my opinion had too much control of what works with Apple and what doesn't and they very much took advantage of their monopoly and sway with 3rd parties. I felt like they would inhibit users with lack of interoperability including cables. Google/ Android has definitely caught up and for the most part it still seems more interoperable than IOS, but I am sure that has improved, but I am more than satisfied and comfortable with Google

So that explains my preference over I-phone, but not Galaxy. I loved my Galaxies and I would be lying if I didn't say I couldn't wait for the next new model and whatever new upgrades came along. I thought the old IR port was the greatest thing ever, in that it could learn a tv by basically pointing at it, and all the other stuff they innovated. Few things I didn't love, and chief among them was Bixby, as they made it difficult to keep it shut down and it annoyed the shit out of me when it would "interfere" even momentarily. Additionally, I didn't like the Samsung store, Samsung's customization of Android, Messages etc. The other thing I couldn't stand is other than hardware, nothing else was superior and you had to put in effort to steer away from their "Samsung" alternatives to pure Android.

Started using a lot of Google everything else and it was the best of both worlds. Pixels came along and I turned my nose up until the 8 and it won me over almost immediately. Solid everything, camera very good, display good and on and on and specs really started to catch up and I think they found their sweet spot.

I have been fortunate and no major issues. Made a few one time tweaks and I have been on Beta Android the last two years. A small hiccup here and there on a couple releases that was quickly rectified, and everything is smoother. I believe the biggest reason is they aren't engineering, on already good engineering as Samsung does to Samsungify, and all the other producers of Android do as well to give it their identity. I get it, but having everything as it was intended on a high end phone is freaking incredible. Also, small bonus is you get the newest Android features before they are released in General Android, but whatever.

The absolute bottom line is that it just works seamlessly. No surprises, more intuitive and great quality. Like I said Samsung and Apple overall have better hardware, but not the same experience. My recommendation is to get what you want for the reasons you choose, but don't pass on Pixel because it has a slightly slower processor as everything it has is state of the Art and a little more coat effective to boot.

Long and wordy, but wanted to share my experience as I was pretty skeptical before I gave it a chance. Had an opportunity to get a 10 Pro for roughly 100.00 with trade in and some credits I have and almost did it, but couldnt think of one good reason especially since they are updating for 7 years. Seemed pointless

Update Match Status

If Kalshi has a live score feed, they certainly have the ability to update the status of a match to.postponed or delayed. I hate to believe that they are doing that so that customers keep betting and have their money locked up or receive it back with a fee charged. It would be pretty scummy if that was the reason.
