Can tart cherry powder go bad?
Been trying to take this daily because I read it's great at promoting akkermansia in the gut.
Since taking it I have been having dark coloured violent liquid shits, but no other issues that would come with say, stomach poisoning or norovirus. I've taken some high % carvacrol oregano oil just to be sure.
The reviews for the powder state it's "bright red messy powder that stains". Mine is basically black. In fact it looks now different to activated charcoal.
I've had the pot opened for a while and there's no expiry date on the pot which is odd because there seems to be for all other ND products. Edit: it's 9/27
Edit: it's also supposedly great for DOMS however I've been getting DOMS so it doesn't even seem to be working?
Bring on the infiniakker or whatever you call your upcoming akkermansia supplement!
Thoughts? Thanks.
Do you keep your eyes open when kissing?
Always wondered if this is my mbti that causes this... whenever snogging a woman I keep my eyes open. All the women I have kissed however close their eyes, and any kissing scenes in movies etc are eyes closed also.
Anyone else?
I constantly flip flop between INTP and INTJ on my mbti tests, if this means anything?
Are there any products that lower fasting insulin levels WITHOUT lowering fasting blood sugar?
As title!
Most of the stuff, like ALA or berberine, lowers blood sugar and as a result lowers insulin levels, increasing insulin sensitivity.
However I have come to the conclusion I have elevated insulin without elevated blood sugar (hypoglycemic symptoms with normal/slightly elevated blood sugars, confirmed via accuchek finger meter). I have also ruled out kidney and liver issues via urine tests.
What I really need is something that lowers actual insulin or blunts insulin release whilst not lowering blood sugar.
I think the ashwagandha I was taking has caused this as one of it's effects is "increases insulin secretion" which isn't great if you have hyperinsulinemia (aka prediabetes). Also it lowers cortisol which seems to inhibit insulin whilst stressed so now that I'm no longer stressed it's no longer stopped the pancreas from producing it:
>Elevated cortisol causes insulin resistance—making muscle/fat cells less responsive—and can directly suppress insulin secretion from the pancreas.
So somehow I've caused prediabetes by reducing stress...go figure.
I've already gone low carb, more protein and good fats and started lifting more, I already fast 16-20 hours a day, which I've done since 2021, kinda alarming that intermittent fasting hasn't stopped prediabetes... having said that I don't get any of these pseudohypoglycemia symptoms whilst fasting in that 16-20 hour range, only after eating...so "idiopathic postprandial hypoglycemia"...
>Idiopathic Postprandial Syndrome (IPS), sometimes historically referred to as idiopathic reactive pseudohypoglycemia or adrenergic postprandial syndrome, is a condition where a person experiences symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) after eating, but their blood glucose levels are actually in the normal range.
A side note in case anyone has digestive issues, by basically making every meal myself (think stir fries with chicken) my gut cleared up in literally 4 days. I'm still going to buy infinifibre but I don't need c3g anymore for a bristol4 poop. I just needed to cut out processed food.
Thanks

Thiamega alternative?
Been taking thiamega for months now, whilst I take some other things, I'm pretty sure it's been the main fix for long covid.
Unfortunatly it's out of stock now and they emailed me back finally to say it will be out of stock for the foreseeable future.
It's a stack that contains
>thiamine hcl
>sulbuthiamine
>benfothiamine
>ttfd
I have the ttfd separately so just need the other three. However I'm struggling to find a good all in one or even separate ones here in the UK tbh.
I stack it with methylated b vitamins and either use theirs or the nootropicsdepot infini-b, so no issues there.
Thanks
Does extremely fast clotting equal future chances of DVT?
I'm an extremely fast clotter and always have been. Blood draws often fail as they clot inside the test tubes. I bought a blood check meter today to check for diabetes as I've been having "hypoglycemic episodes" that have turned out to be psuedohypoglycemia... perfect blood sugar confirmed by the blood sugar meter. However it took me three attempts because my blood either doesn't leak enough for the test strip or it clots literally 5 seconds after plunging the lance.
AND this is after having my daily dose of nattokinase/serrapeptase 2 hours ago! Which is a blood thinner..
My entire family on my dads side has had varicose veins (though no dvt history) and I'm a bit paranoid about that, I walk daily, take diosmin/hesperidin, aforementioned natto/serra/lumbrokinase, and do calf exercises at night.
Thanks
Does "duplex kidney" cause problems when older?
When I was born I had a duplex kidney, apparently an extra tube leading to nowhere, I was operated on and had 4 years of daily antibiotics...apparently.
Fast forward 36 years and I'm prediabetic but generally good, but the last few years my urine has had slight protein content according to urine strips, and if I eat a lot of carbs and sugar I can smell cake mixture smell in the urine, so I've stopped doing that.
I'm thinking of going to doctors but wait times are long, or they might not even see me at all (UK NHS), for example I had an hb1ac done a while back and they just never rang me back so no idea.
Anyway what sent me down the research spiral is lately I feel like I have constant hypoglycemia, but very mild, basically constantly hungry and sweating, and when researching that I remembered the duplex kidney thing and turns out it can cause CKD?
Are there any at home tests I can do?
Is this because of the duplex kidney I was born with?
Does protein consumption make it worse just like sugar consumption?
Thanks
Can ashwagandha make you hungry after meals?
Odd thing going on here
3 weeks into ND normal ashwagandha. It's fixed my anxiety completely. Which is awesome.
However a side effect I'm getting, is that after meals I'm ravenous.
The odd thing is that I fast 16-20 hours a day and during the fast I'm not really hungry until hours 18-20. This hunger only starts after eating.
I know it can cause hyperthyroidism but people report the hunger being all day long not just after eating.
Whilst diabetes can cause hunger after meals however I don't have the intense thirst or urination or dark skin or pretty much any other symptoms.
I'm loathe to quit ash because, the anxiety is gone.
Odd one, huh?
edit: it does appear to be mouth hunger, like I'm almost chewing my teeth and salivating. Not belly hunger.
Where are the flickr bros?
Back in 2008-2010 I was big into photography, not very good at it and rather poor. Everyone was raving over the d700, flickr was a great place, blah blah
Now I have money so I bought a d700 in great condition and a tamron 35mm 1.4 prime (the big heavy one)... it seems flickr is dead?
I don't use FB/instagram etc because it's just full of onlyfan bots, especially instagram.
Where is everyone? Have people given up on photography or something?
Thanks
My display keeps freezing and I have to hard reboot. It's a strix ai 365 cpu so amdgpu.
The problem is journalctl or dmesg don't log errors when this happens.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have to run the testing branch or I get amdgpu ring0 errors which cause the display to cycle every ~10 mins when watching media.
If I eat olives, sweetcorn, onions, and any type of nuts, I don't digest them. Sometimes whole ones will come out of the other end. Which I don't get why as I chew my food...
Even with digestive enzymes such as enzymedica digest gold, I still cannot digest these foods.
I used to be able to, before covid.
Any ideas why? I can eat a pizza with no bloating but can't eat these healthy foods?
Thanks
