The best bite of food I've ever had was... gruel? Does anyone know how this was made?

I was having this conversation about favorite bites of food and no one believed me that my favorite bite of food was an unassuming savory porridge/gruel dish from a small plates place called Liberty in Florida.

I swear to god, it had three distinct buttery layers in it that happened at distinct times when you put it in your mouth. Like, you would taste the rich porridge, and then there would be a delayed layer of butter, and then an even more distinct layer of butter (maybe cheese?)

I've tried a few recipes and while I can get a rich porridge layer and a butter/cheese layer, I can't get the buttery layers to separate distinctly in the mouth, if that makes sense. Does anyone have any idea how they did this?

Shout out to…

I live about 45 minutes away and had to make a trip to GSO for some insoles.

First s/o goes to The Shoe Market and particularly Miguel. He was attentive and helpful, top tier customer service. You rock Miguel!

Second, I would go broke from the vast dining options if I lived in this city. Big ups to Aladdin’s Shawarma today! Clean food and the garlic toum slaps!

Lastly, my first trip to Super G Mart was heaven. I like Li Ming’s a lot from prior excursions too. These places are my personal Disney world as a former career culinarian. I live in a small town these days but I truly miss being conveniently near to places that offer what I can’t find locally.

That’s all. Support local industry!

New to the game and have a couple of questions

Hey and thanks in advance.

1- when I’m taking over an area it tells me to keep the lieutenant alive for interrogation but the only option I’m really given is to knock them out. Lmk if there’s something I’m missing?

2- if I get a medal it fully upgrades that stat from what I gather. If so, do your skill points get refunded?

Recommendations for hernia surgeon.

Hello all and thanks for any attention this post garners in advance. I (40m) noticed some swelling/tenderness in or around the area that could be either an inguinal or femoral hernia. Nothing other than slight discomfort while palpating and no signs of my initial supposition of an ingrown hair. From what I’ve gather femoral hernias are treated seriously so I will monitor known symptoms and act accordingly.

I would prefer to not endure an ER visit. I have spoken to a coworker whom recommended against it, favoring of a general surgeon. Just wanted to reach out to the community for and recommendations in advance.

Thanks again🙂

Ep. 97: Punctuation in story number one.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I do believe Tony was quite mistaken in his knowledge of English language formatting. I also hold the opinion that Luis did not punctuate correctly and the story was cleaned up by either G Mike or Alex. The rule I recall being taught is that ‘which’ is preceded by a comma in nonrestrictive clauses.
