Why aren't there just regular AR matches?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've tried to search for answers and not got great results. I haven't done a match before, relatively new to owning my own firearms and such. I would imagine ARs are relatively popular in America, I know I grew up around them.

How are there not just regular 5.56/.223 AR matches? Is it just my area? I feel like all I see are handguns, shotguns, .22LR and PCC matches. I see the occasional 2 gun where you can run a rifle. I even see AK matches even though they're usually just a once or twice a year thing. I'd have thought matches just for ARs would be more popular.

Thank you for any info or help. I assume I'm just missing them or maybe it's just not something in my coastal region. Gun culture in my specific area can seem a bit fuddy, for want of a nicer word.

SIG RSAR, Green Beret 7th SFG 2026

Tried to replicate this SIG RSAR in the attached photo of a Green Beret out of Eglin AFB. Don't have the handguard and proper barrel length to make a 1:1 RSAR but still a cool build and very fun to run. It's so light but the .300 BLK really punches.

Parts list:

  • MCX lower, black
  • Colt trigger
  • Collapsible mount w/ SIG Collapsible stock extended completely out
  • Virtus upper, black
  • Virtus 8" handguard
  • BCM Gunfighter flipped (can't quite see what the Beret's actually got on there so I just threw on a Gunfighter)
  • MLOK R90 FDE light mount, flipped w/ FDE Surefire M300C
  • Front sight KAC Micro F
  • MCX 9" Barrel (I believe the RSAR actually uses a 7.75" barrel so you have to choose between the 9 or 6.75 in game, I went with the 9)
  • KAC 3-prong QDC2 muzzle, KAC QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor w/ shroud (can't see what supp he's actually running with the cover and there's no fabric covers in the game so I went with the shroud for vibes)
  • Rear sight KAC Micro R
  • GBRS Hydra Mount Lower 1-3 FDE, back EOTech EXPS-3 FDE, front NGAL
  • SCH charging handle

Tried to make DJ Shipley's KS3

Since when does General Shepherd care about height over bore..

Tried to put together DJ Shipley's KS3 with what the game offers. Using the Hydra is a bit weird to get used to but it's a fun setup to run

Parts list as the order appears in game:

  • KAC SR-16 Upper & Lower
  • GBRS Hydra Mount, Back - Aimpoint T2, Front - NGAL
  • KAC URX6 10.5" black handguard
  • BCM Gunfighter black foregrip, flipped
  • MLOK L90 flashlight mount, flashlight
  • 11.5 barrel 5.56
  • KAC 3-prong muzzlebreak
  • KAC QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor
  • Milspec buffertube & MAGPUL CTR stock
  • MAGPUL MOE K2 FDE pistol grip
  • BCM Bolt Carrier (I imagine it's a KAC bolt carrier in DJ's but not in the game so I used BCM)
  • Aero Precision breach charging handle (his is a Radian, not in the game but the Aero looked most similar to me) Radian charging handle (I missed it) it's the Raptor

Who do we think gets the J-22 Orao?

I'm guessing Italy and a Premium instead of regular tech tree. At any rate I'm excited for it, Yugo stuff is cool. Wonder what y'all think the BR and load outs will be like?
